Hmm, thought this was posted somewhere else.

This is a quick fix for SOME issues, I have been running SRO on a dual-core but on processor 0 for months.

http://www.adsciengineering.com/StartAffinity/

Place it in your system directory (i.e. c:\windows\system32)

Argument 1: App you wish to start
Argument 2: Processor IDs, #( 0 - 31 supported)

Example: StartAffinity notepad.exe 0 1

would start notepad.exe on processors 0 and 1.

What I do is take the SRO client shortcut, paste on the desktop, then modify as below - (ignore the psexec, it would be sro_client.exe
)

There's really not much to screw up, as long as you use that specific shortcut, it will run under Processor X. Use any other shortcut and Windows assigns affinity.

Yea. I also tried turning off the other processor instead. Didn't work.

Maybe it's just coincidence, but I've noticed something. It seems if I set up a stall, I get disconnected pretty quickly. If I don't set up a stall, and just stand there, I still get disconnected, but less often.

The other day, I went afk standing at the Hotan south gate, at the bottom of the steps and away from all the town activity. I stayed online, afk, for several hours.

Then I set up a stall, did not join the stall network, and disconnected within about 20 minutes.

So I think it's a combination of things. It seems I can't afk stall, but at least I can afk in a quiet area.

I also deleted the silkerrsender.exe file in the game directory and haven't noticed any ????? errors since then.

So basically, I deleted that file, and just afk (no stall) in a quiet location outside town, but within the gates.

You can't. That's the point of formatting. However, you could backup all of your data, music, pictures, videos, the "not porn" folder, documents, etc, onto a CD or DVD first. Then after you format and reinstall the OS, all you have to do is reinstall your applications.
