DPS is only half the fight. If you go in there with a bunch of people with the Wrath mindset thinking they can just ignore fight mechanics, but do good DPS, you'll wipe.

I love that they made heroic bosses have stuff that requires movement, coordination, cooldowns, etc.

Yeah, was just wondering how much I'd have to aim for as my warlock is ready for heroics, the part about fight mechanics goes without saying :D

hmmm...i've rarely been in LFG where DPS was a problem. It's always important but i started off at like 9-10k i think after i was ilvl 329 and once you start getting gear that goes fast. If you play your class well you should be fine but you be a horrible lock and fail at mechanics, thats just a no no. It's very obvious after awhile whose DPS is where it should be and really the only ppl who do bad DPS while on appropriate content are bad players...

But yeah just go into heroics and come what may, you should be fine.

I never had many issues with doing enough damage in heroics, but Doing damage isn't the only thing you need to do.

On trash being able to CC is a great asset. So I advise you to glyph fear and make a focus macro for it. And don't forget to reapply CC in time.

For the boss fights some are a straight dps race but you have other where playing by the rules is more important than doing great dps to make sure healer doesn't need to spend unneeded mana because you didn't move out of the fire.

Around 10k single target is the minimum you should aim for really. I pull around 13k single target and 20-25k on trash.

I facepalm when I see somebody doing 5k on bosses and still using gear from ICC. By 85 you should of replaced everything. No exceptions.

My trash dps is terribad. I don't even try for trash really. I Repentance my target then lolqq as the group kills stuff.

Bosses I tear up single target. 16k on the Baradin Hold boss as ret. If our Hunter was logging it for worldoflogs, I'd have been 6th. But no, he's bad.

Still waiting for my guild to start raiding again, but we lack healers.

I've decided that I'm going to buy WoW. I'll buy the Battle Chest and play for 30 days and then decide if I'll continue in which case I'll buy Lich King and Cataclysm.

Is there anything I should know, do, or read on before starting to play? I'll buy it in a couple days and I'll probably do the trial before starting the subscription.

Are you in EU territory?

I did play on a Private Server before and played a couple days of trial, but that's it, I have never tried any instances or raids and I played a Druid but I don't think I'll roll a Druid this time.

And yes I live in Europe.

I read this.

We think we overnerfed Every Man for Himself, and are reverting it back to a 2-minute cooldown again. We might evaluate other racials after we’ve seen more PvP.

Gonna start playing WoW again either today or tomorrow. Anyone here on a U.S. server? If I can't RaF with one of my real life friends I'll probably RaF with someone here.

Alrite, i'll message you my e-mail for the RaF. I'll start playing in about 4-5hours from now. Gonna roll a Goblin hunter. Gonna upgrade my account all the way to cata once I start playing and probably buy 2 months after my first month is over. You better help me level <3 I be giving you a free month and a mount home dawg.

Paid a total of $75 dollars for all of this.

Gamestop Powersaver sale:
20$ Battle Chest
20$ LK
5$ Shipping Tax

Gamestop Sale:
Cataclysm 30$

Sucks that I missed out on the awesome blizzard store sale, but at least I didn't pay full price for any of this.

Maxxed out archaeology. And now I'm trying to get canopic jars for my vial of the sands recipe.

But all I get is nelf and fossile digsites.

I went and bought the Battle Chest for 14€ and WotLK for 20€. In one/two days I'll be playing.

Didn't buy Cata but it was still an upgrade from my original plan of buying vanilla only.

I got my AQ archaeology bug mount but it was a pain in the ass.

During the time to gather the 150 tol'vir bits, I completed 3 rare nelf pieces (and working on the 4th) and the raptor mount before I could get the required digsites.

Ok, I've created my first character.

It's an Orc Shaman on Twisting Nethers and the name is Phartus.

I was barely able to play yesterday because of the long install but today I'll do some serious levelling.

If anyone has any tips, I'd appreciate it. :)

Edit: I picked up Herbalism and Alchemy and so far I've been using my herbs to train Alchemy, is that a good idea or should I keep the herbs so that I can sell them on the AH and later when I have some money train Alchemy?

No that's a good combination to level with. You'll get XP from finding herbs around your level, and Herbalism and Alchemy go hand in hand. Plus, at cap Alchemy is huge thanks to the new elixirs and the fact you'll make a killing from selling herbs.

I'd pick up Archaeology also. In case you're leveling and come across a dig spot, that's just free XP and a chance at some cool items.

Started an Undead Warrior with my friend who was doing the trial, gotta say I like the quest and story-line alot more, I'm at the Battlefront or whatever, level 14 at the moment, loving it.

EDIT: I also tried messing around with AddOns, but I just made a big mess and ended up deleting them all... I might experiment again tomorrow.

I'd suggest getting a prepackaged UI.

TukUI, etc.

I tried some of these but couldn't get them to work :\

But I messed around with bartender and some other yesterday and it's a little bit better now.

My friend is a Destruction Warlock, we've been levelling together and when we do dungeons he always runs out of mana, is this normal? Is he doing something wrong? Any tips to prevent this?
