On a personal level it looks highly generic and the mimicry of style is blunt.
On a technical level, not bad. Nice colours and brushing but the textures and scan lines need to be re-worked in better. As I've mentioned before consistent scan lines rarely work--aesthetically speaking.

I really didn't have enough inspiration when making this, that's why it just came out looking as you have described. But this was just a quickie, cuz I really felt like making something I really didn't care how it came out.

First has a real cool feeling to it. Whereas the second one, gives me the feeling of warmth.

Wow, impressive. but I don't get the relation between the art and the title/pic. nonetheless I really like the second one, it just feels better to me

I like the first one better but clear the scanlines from the focal point it will give the scanlines a more radial(?) look and not just something slapped on top.

I have to agree, would have such a better feel of shadowing if the textures entered the "openings." I like v1 better, has a rougher feel. The scan lines go with the texture in making it rough.
