Basically all these leaks are doing is endangering people who might be named as informants like the news article says, and making the US look like dicks to the ignorant masses. As usual.

I don't think the people responsible for these leaks should be harshly punished, though. Time will tell what the consequences are for them.

You are the ignorant masses, wars are waved for profit and power. The US legion is one of the douchiest the human race has ever seen.

yes because WWII and the korean war were both waged clearly for profit. I feel bad that all those men and women died for the freedom and rights of people like you. People are forgetting history. Europe can thumb their noses at americans all they want now..lets see if they still are when russia and china decide that they should be kings of the world.

Access to information requires both a proper security clearance and a need to know. I don't know if the US President has an over archng need to know for every piece of information or not, but those 840,000 people certainly do not - regardless of their clearance.

Remember a few months ago people were having a fit about that "slaying of journalists by US soldiers"? Imagine that situation, only this time people are having a fit because an old lady had a heart attack when an M1 tank fired a round in town. Now imagine that situation taking place every week.

We literally can not report every single casualty. No army ever has, and no army ever will.

But its not just some old lady having a heart attack you know that. War and how the people interact with it changes. In WWII the war was brought into theaters. In Vietnam the war was brought into peoples homes. Now in the age of the internet we have access to so much more information about the war. Someone is keeping the civilian tally somewhere, every war has one. Now we can see those stories instead of just seeing "estimated 20,000+"
