So,

Obviously we all have played MMOs, and are very Familiar with some of the Quests that are handed to us, you need to go to X location, and retrieve the Magical Ice Crystaline sword of the Emperor Penguin.

Well, it appears that for a number of years, this has actually been happening IRL. In the form of Geocaching

Your Zone, the World.
Your Quest, Locate the Caches.
Your Objective, Sign The Log / Move the Travel Bug

For More info, check out the Wiki and Official Page:
http://www.geocaching.com/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching

You will be surprised how many Caches are near where you live, i put in my address and there were literally thousands within a couple of miles.

So, anyone gone Geocaching before? Or want to give it a try now that you know about it

One of my friend's sisters does this ALL the time. They've done thousands of geocaches.

To each their own, I'm not doing a geocache in 10 below zero weather.

My best friend's family does this. Most weekends they make trips to other cities to search for geocaches they haven't found yet. Apparently they've found thousands. Seems like a cool family activity I guess.

Edit: I basically just said the same thing as equal... lmao. Didn't even read your reply until after I made mine.

I think it's kind of cool. My friends and I were out hiking once and unintentionally found a geocache, that was random and cool.

So...like...how much exp do I get? Or is this one of those quests you have to do to unlock another one only then it turns out the reward is some worthless crafting item and self gratification for a job well done. Screw that I'm going to bed!

EDIT:
Oh wait. I remember Hank Green doing one of these.

Psh, I'm already capped out. I'll just keep PvP'ing.

On a serious note: Sounds interesting, could try it when I'm out. Prolly wouldn't go out of my way to do it though.

The EXP isnt really that good in the beginning, you always end up meeting a boss which require a party of 5 with good coordination to take down, I once meet a grizzly. It's a fun activity to do when you're bored but the rewards is often some blue questing item and some bear meat who the one who knows how to cook always take but the last quest gives quite amount of EXP, you just need to be patient, that's all.
