If America hosts the 2022 FIFA, will they rename it FISA? :sohappy:

Maybe that was true a few years ago when the best players were ronaldo, zidane, ronaldinho etc.
But now some of the best players in the world are huge divers; C. ronaldo (Though he apparently does less of it now), messi (he just started doing it) and rooney.

I just quote myself on this

Also where the world cup is held has nothing to do with who wins the world cup, though yeah, a place where they dont allow homosexuals or alcohol being given the World Cup bid is pretty farking stupid.

Yes cause obviously the group stages are as interesting as the semis.
Fyi, US was hugely supported in 2010 worldcup even after we were not given three totally legit goals, and got kicked in the 1st round.

im assuming your from the us... how can you say you wernt given three totally legit goals when the main controversy in the group was this goal
Code: Select all

and the point i was making is, if you take players from nba nfl mlb nhl none of them care what they look like...

players in soccer are known for making "fashion statements" whilst on the pitch, i mean even this year was riddled with a certain carlos tevez from manchester city...
he was wearing a neckscarf, ok yes it was cold in the winter and many people wore neckscarfs at very cold games... HOWEVER! tevez was wearing this scarf all through the year, even when the temperature was quite warm he was wearing it because it "looked cool"
this is proof it was a genuine problem... quoted "theyve been on the male catwalks for a few years now"
Code: Select all

suprisingly im not... its true... i rarely see instances of outstanding talent at a professional level on soccer. ive seen kids playground games more fun then watching multi-millionaire ibramovich buy his way to thrashing teams in the premiership with financial issues... its just inbalanced and all to do with the image of the game rather then the actual content.

Taking a few cases of 'fashion statements' and applying the same thing to "players in soccer" in general is called a generalization. You realize how many people play soccer right? How many do you think make "fashion statements"? Come on man..

I wasnt talking about that goal, and that goal wasnt even during the group stages. What i said was, the US was supported and Americans still watched even after 3 very controversial decisions when 3 totally legit goals were not given, during the group stages.

If you see someone (from Argentina, where its mostly warm) wearing a scarf during games in England (where its cold) and conclude that all soccer players try to make fashion statements (erm wut), then you are just stupid. If he was wearing a Rolex and D&G sunglasses while on the pitch, you would still be generalizing like shit :palm: :palm:
The fact that its on the news just shows what a joke the media is in England

Also, fyi, basketball is indoors, baseball is during the summer and football players wear so much gear its funny.

Football plays in rain/snow, and they try to hit each other. It would be stupid to not wear gear with how hard they hit each other at times.

Well that was interesting. Was an entertaining game, but I felt like USA just let WAYYYYY too many chances pass and that came back to bite them in the end. I gotta say though, the first Japanese goal was just sooo lucky. US screwed themselves over bad.

Was an entertaining game, Japan needed the win, in the end I guess it all worked out.

I would be happier with Japan winning if they didn't pull that last stunt. Red card ftw but it still ruins the sportsmanship. They knew that odds are Morgan would've made it in at the end.
