I tried that. Does it work for any video or does it have to be a local video? Mirosuke wrote: Lol. My friend has it and we've been experimenting it. Worked for stock apps for me. I know you have to be in decent lighting. I've turned all the eye features off, but the one that keeps the screen on if you're looking at it.(even that one fails when it's in a darker setting and the phone isn't close enough for it's light to reflect off my eyes)

What are these cases the salesman tried pitching for me to buy? They are like 34$ otter something. Are they worth buying, if so any other cheap alternatives?
Yes I am new to smart phones as advanced as this..

Otter box are protective cases. I got one for my S3 but stopped using it because it was too bulky and was hiding the beauty of the phone. A month later I dropped it from 3 feet and it cracked the screen and chipped the plastic around the screen. It is worth it in the end because when you are finally ready to buy a new phone you can take the phone out of the case and it will be brand new.

I'd probably delay release until all the shit that gobbles up energy is removed /minimised so my users don't have to do it for me. It's f*cking stupid to not be able to keep up with the older generations on basic stuff.

What do you expect from a phone that is quite literally 100 times more powerful? They're not going to strap a brick sized battery onto it. 1.7" screen vs 5", 128x160 resolution vs 1920x1080, 2G vs 4G, very little functionality vs damn near laptop functionality.

Yes I am new to smart phones as advanced as this.. I don't have a case myself, but I'm very glad that I bought the protective screen thingy that you put on top of the screen. It may be a bit tricky to place correctly, but it's so nice to have whatever scratches there may appear happen on the thin layer of plastic instead of on the screen itself. That way, I can simply peel off the protection after a year or two and have a completely clean screen Something like this is what I'm talking about: http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/sam ... hields.php

Please tell, why in the love of god does a 5" screen need a 1920x1080 resolution. My 20" monitor isn't big fcking enough to need that. Why does a phone need a quad core processor when all it does is call, play some music, chat and play games that are simpler than most flash games on newground. Smartphones are packed to the core with hardware and software that they do not need at all. And if they do need it, it seems like it's made rather inefficiently.

I thought 1080p was a bit too much for even 15,6" I have 17,3" with 1600x900 and I wouldn't buy a smaller laptop with a higher resolution. My old phone takes 1200x1600 pics but they're bad quality anyways because it's only 2MP.

Yeah, though it's not a good camera by todays standards.

I prefer power and functionality, you prefer battery economy and simplicity. No matter what we say our opinions will always differ because of that. I've got a 27" 1440p monitor, a $200 chair, and a 500 watt sound system within 2 feet of me. I assume you have the opposite because you don't feel any of it to be necessary. You're an economic person with simple desires, if anything I'd say that's a good thing.

You're an economic person with simple desires, if anything I'd say that's a good thing. nay nay, I admit I am not a big spender but you do misunderstand my mindset. What I'm looking for here is quality and cost-efficiency. My problem here is: you have a phone with powerful hardware in it. Sure that sounds nice: but. can it actually be put to use? A Phone with a mall ass 5" screen, limited input options (keyboard, mouse, w/e) and generally simplistic functionality does not need hardware like that to do what it does. you could do all that and more on an old W95 PC with single core, less ram, less everything except the actual screen size. My point: nice hardware is nice, but a phone can't actually ever use it's full potentional, thus it's wasted on it. You'd be off more or less the same with worse hardware, but you'd save a $150 you can spend on something else. That's why it's good to generally keep things focussed on what they're intended for. Something that went wrong with phones... also: I have 2 640Watt PMPO speakers <- €120 A comfortable hybrid office/gaming chair <- €80 1280x1024 (?") + 1600x900 (20") dual setup displays. <- gonna guess a total of €250. Funny as it is the really old 1280x1024 is actually a ton better than the 1600x900 screen, much better colours and visual angle.

Reasons a good phone compensates for you having to throw it onto a dock / plug it into a charger once a day instead of throwing it onto your desk(when you sleep anyway):
- Being able to watch full movies on my phone. Spending 3 hours a day traveling from and to work i watch some game of thrones / breaking bad etc, once in a while. The games i play are games I've got installed on my PC as well (like Solar 2, Dungeon Defenders etc.). - Watch HD Youtube anywhere around WiFi. - Read books on my phone. - Listen to lots of music. - My phone replaced my dedicated digital camera as well, because it's quality is simply superior. - I talk to people on my phone through whatsapp, viber, steam, skype and ofc just sms and calls. - Dropbox anywhere / e-mail / news / mobile banking / finances / travel planner / TV Remote or screen mirroring etc.
Also, I've got a cable to use any USB device on my phone, so transferring data through USB stick (or external HDD) or using a keyboard to type is no problem either. It basically replaces my netbook, besides for the screen being 6" smaller.
The battery generally lasts for over a full day (5:45 till 00:00 ish), which is fine for me. Besides, I've got a charger with it to charge it on the go if i'd need to.

Lol, my laptop, headphones, mouse and mousepad cost only about 500€ all together. The chair cost next to nothing and is several years old now, also it's quite uncomfortable and not really meant for this kind of thing.
