For a situation like this, it's hard to show empathy towards a kid who whips out a knife on public transit and then ignores orders to drop the knife. Why couldn't just save his own life and dropped the knife? That's my reasoning.

I'd show more empathy if the kid had a mental illness or something, or even a mental lapse, but that has yet to be proven.

Why did he have a knife in his hand?
What were his intentions?

Shooting him because they think he has a bomb strapped to him is illogical in this situation. If he does have a bomb on him and you shoot him, you're shooting a bomb. These people shot the kid 9 times LOL.

. He was armed with a knife and stepped forward once, unless he can ricochet off the bus and stab a officer, it makes more sense that they were afraid he had some actual lethal shit on him (pistol, w/e). Or the police are just totally retarded. Who knows, I'm not canadian :giveup:

Seems you're already condemning him ahead of any investigative reports as to why he whipped out a knife... Much like the cops who shot him 60 seconds after arriving on the scene...

I guess we'll have to wait for the investigation report if they ever release it, but again, if it were one of those cultural knives, iirc it's usually worn in front of your abdomen and sheaved, there would be no good reason for it to be drawn.

Witness accounts of what happened, none of them mentioned a Janbiya

It almost seems like he did have a mental lapse; so if he did, then this is truly an extremely unfortunate event.

He's holding his penis with his left hand according to witness?..Clear indication of mental issues to me...All the more reason why the cops needed to better assess the situation before going ballistic on him within 60 seconds...
