as phone and tablet are almost the same thing, the main difference between them is the size, but we're seeing smartphones getting bigger, look at the S4, it's like a small tablet.
so what's the biggest phone that you could comfortably use without being bothered by its size?

Spoiler!

I don't know. My hand is bigger than average men's hand, but I still think S4 is too big for a phone. If I wanted something that big, I'd buy a tablet.

iPhone 5 is currently the biggest phone I'd be happy using.

I think that it has to do with our way of interfacing with the device. We are aiming for more functionality utilizing a "screen" system. When we find a "smaller" way to access the content we want in our phones, the screens should start to get smaller.

I'd say around 3" screen. 4" is pushing it insanely far. I don't need a huge block in my pocket because everybody wants bigger screens for youtube.

An S3 would still work. That's why I want to buy one.

This.

I have the iPhone 5 currently. I am very satisfied with the layout and how it works. Even though 95% of the forum members shit on Apple products, because of it being "mainstream", "overpriced", and "not enough gadgets" that come with the phones are fine with their views as well. Just keep in mind that not everyone see's a phone as a portable pc.

If you like simplicity and not too much complication iPhone's are the way to go in my opinion. 99.9% of the people with andriod phones do not even use them to it's fullest potential anyways.

When the phone gets too big to fit into your pockets...
The S4 is alright, its really skinny so that helps, iPhone 5 is perfect
The old IPhone was just totally shit in terms of putting in your pocket..

My S3 is fine for me. My brother has a Galaxy Note and my phone fits inside his screen. That thing is pretty ridiculous.

I recently went from an iPhone 4 to a HTC One, everybody was astonished I didn't get an iPhone 5 instead. Personally I was very disappointed in the 5. The One is leagues ahead of the 5 and even the soon to come 5S or C in nearly every aspect.

Dual core vs quad core, 1136x640 vs 1920x1080, 4" vs 4.7", locked down UI vs open, it has all this and even carries similar battery life to the 5. :dope:
I was able to convert all of my iTunes music to my One with HTC Sync Manager in just a few minutes as well.
After owning both and using every iPhone to date I see no reason to buy another iPhone until Apple seriously steps their game up.

OT: The phone [4.7"] is big and thin, but not ridiculously big like the Note, it's quite comfortable. Using it with 1 hand isn't an issue either.

Does my iPhone send texts? Pictures? Email? Use the various social networking apps I want? Have an easy to use design?

Yes to all of the above. Seems perfectly fine to me. I don't need fancy bells and whistles that I won't ever use in a phone. That's what my computer is for.

Basically why I switched to iPhone after my DROID X2 died. Android is nice for the customization options, but I don't really use those, so iPhone it is now.

My iPhone 4 is a good size, I wouldn't want any bigger. I only use the phone when I'm out and about, for anything else I use the PC or the iPad (lol got a free iPad for uni and only ever used it for youtube). I don't really understand the big phone thing, but that's just my using habits I guess.

I have an S3 and it works pretty well for me. 4.8" screen if I'm not mistaken. I think the biggest would be the S4 (I think it's only slightly bigger than the S3), after that you might as well get a tablet with skype.

Don't know if you guys heard of huawei, they're bringing 5.5-6" 'phablets' to the market...idiots.

If you wanted to use a phone with simple features, you could have gotten a simpler(cheaper) android phone and saved yourself whatever organ you had to sell to get an iPhone + adapter for the adapter.

My thoughts exactly. I have a cheaper android smartphone and it serves me right. In my country, iPhones are pretty expensive, at least compared to other phones.

Where is everyone getting this "iPhones are super expensive" stuff from? When I bought my new iPhone 4 it was $100. If you want to get every new gadget that comes to the market on the day it releases than yea your going to pay an arm and a leg but if you wait 6 months to get it its going to be half price.

I've got a Sony Xperia Z. I personally thought it was too big before i saw it in store. It's got a 5" screen, but I've got big pockets :P I'm in trains about 10 hours a week, so it's nice to be able to watch full series on my phone comfortably on a 1920x1080 screen.

IPhone 5 (16 GB version) atm on a cheap website is 650 euros over here. Xperia Z being 480. I'd say apple products are too expensive for what they deliver. Specs wise literally everything is a lot worse on the IPhone.

- 13 MP camera vs 8 MP
- 1,5 Ghz quad core CPU vs 1,3 ghz dual core (I realize, depending on how you use your phone, android may need a lot more power as well)
- 1920x1080 resolution (441 ppi) vs 1136 x 640 (326 ppi)
- 2 GB RAM vs 1 GB ram
- Possibility to use 64 GB micro SD cards
- Water proof
Plus the extra advantage of being able to plug in and use any USB device, from external hard drives or USB sticks to a keyboard a mouse or a headset, or HDMI links (not sure if apple supports that ^^)

If you prefer to use an IPhone, I hope it's because you simply prefer their OS and/or phone looks. Which is fine :P

Please send me a few iphone 4's then because the 8gb one still costs an upward of 350 euro here after how many years? 3? 4?

Yeah, I'm gonna stick to my $800 Xperia Z. And on a related note, 5" is perfect for me. Can't even use iPhones properly, can't stand that tiny screen.
Spoiler!

When a phone starts to look like a tablet you're heading into retarded territory in my opinion.... My friend bought the Samsung galaxy Note and sometimes when talks on it I laugh because it looks like he's holding up a paperback novel to the side of his face... The iPhone 5 size is perfect...

That's like the guys filming shit or taking pics with their iPad size tablets. That just looks retarded. :)

Everything from 4.2 and up to around 5.0 is good for me. I currently have the now-two-year-old Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and it's alright. I would think that 4.8 or 4.9 is the right size for me.

I spend a lot of time on my phone, so I really appreciate a nice screen size and a great resolution. For me, there's still a big difference from the 5" that I would still call a phone, to the 10" that I would call an ideal tablet size.
