sports combined into school/college is awesome, wish we had that. I wouldn't compete either way though .

^ Once it is and yeah super cool times, being thrown at the machine is just awesome. Fairly glad for the experiences I got there however, understanding first hand how well people react to being told they are special among many other things is quite the treat.

I absolutely hate track and field.
It's just who can run the FASTEST or who can jump the HIGHEST. I really don't see how people can enjoy to do track and field let alone WATCH it...

Isn't that the point of most sports? To be the best? No matter the goal? Be the best receiver, be the fastest runner, be the best soccer forward, etc... Some people like to run. I never answered the OP... I pole vaulted two years in high school and my sophomore year they put me in the 200... I tore my hamstring in practice one day. I never went back to track after that... I feel like a dumbass now for quitting because I was one of the best vaulters in our district and could have easily went to college on a pole vault scholarship. I was jumping 12ft going into my sophmore year. Now-a-days I run for fun and to stay in shape since I plan to enter the military after I graduate college in a year. That's right love... I'm going in!

Our school doesn't do sprinting Instead they only measure our endurance they just throw us on the street when it's still freakin cold and make us run a kilometer. if it takes you more than 4 mins you fail afaik. Or they make us run back and forth to an beep sound that increases it frequency every 'step'. Men need to handle up till step 9 for a minimum grade D: I can just barely do that. I can actually run pretty fast, but I just cannot keep it up for long at all... and especially not in the cold @__@ I need heat to move...lots of it... preferably it needs to be like 32 degrees celcius outside. I may not be the fastest of the class, but I believe my speed is still above average, which I'm proud of because I don't do any sports at all. Up until not so long ago the only exercise I got was running for 1.5 minute to my buss stop every morning

It was my ultimate goal to beat my dads high school record ( I went to the same HS as him) of 15ft something.. I think 15'4"? He went to state and was offered a full ride to a D1 school, but turned it down to marry my mom and join the Marine Corps. I regret giving it up :/ Really dumb of me, but I was pretty immature back in those days. After hurting myself and seeing how easy it was to be lazy, I quit. Ended up playing golf my remaining years in HS. Still have my neon green skypole in my parents garage.

Who plays golf in HS =p
edit: Just read your going into the military comment, major fail dude. Didn't see you as the kind of person who would do such a thing and I'll skip you the why that is an awful idea comment.
I'll actually say that at the very least I hope you understand what kind of monstrous existence the US forces are and that you will be the farthest thing from any idea of heroism.
Also check youtube for videos of what people actually in the army have to say.

I could never imagine myself throwing myself up on a pole. Mad props to you. I hated the state meet, fell in the prelims for the 110's my senior year

Also check youtube for videos of what people actually in the army have to say. Not going to derail the thread and I understand your concerns, it was expected. If I go, it will be pararescue and/or CRO (combat rescue officer). These are the guys that are sent in to save others in hairy situations. The best of the best at CSAR and civilian SAR. That's what I like so much about it, they are used a lot in the civilian world also, especially ones stationed in Alaska. They are EMT paramedic's obviously. Basically, the very best at saving people. That's the short of it. That said, if I get some badass job offer when I graduate I will have to rethink my decisions. As it stands, I'm doing my best in school and workingout / training in case I do end up in the military. It's great motivation for now, dat pararescue pipeline is not easy. /motha-focking-thread-derail.png iCe, I'm jelly that you got a D1 scholarship in track.
