Well, i just wanted to know if the people here drive.

If you don't then is it because your to young? or because you choose not to? Does it scare you?

What about when you learnt to drive? Did it scare your ballz off? Did you try to cheat? Or did it just come naturaly to you?

Me, Ive driven, not a lot, i dont really feel like driving at the moment.. but still i learnt to drive, and have driven Even though im under the legal age.

Dang... it has almost been 6 years now since I took my license. You need to be 18 where I live.

Took a taxi license a few years back. Good extra money for a poor student :P

nope. beside hating stick (trying to start moving without it dying, a key part of driving) my injury with my arms doesnt help me trying to shift.

Got my license when I was 17. I was over-excited, and by 18 had three speeding tickets.

I still stand to lose my license if I get another speeding ticket lol. I love driving, do it as often as possible. I need to get me a stick-shift though. Automatic SUCKS BALLS.

EDIT: BTW, there should be an option for 'I AM ADDICTED TO G FORCE.'

On all but the most epxensive of sports cars, manumatic, autostick, tiptronic, etc suck. A good driver and a good true manual tranny will smoke those things.

I disagree. My audi had one it was great, especially in the snow. My mini cooper has one too, also great for the snow.

Neither of which would be considered an 'expensive sports car'.

As for a manual smoking even a pure automatic, in this day automatics are so close to optimal shifting that there is a negligable difference in 1/4 mile but manual would do better than a pure automatic in an autocross. In the autocross a tiptronic would probabaly do better unless you are a good heel toe or left foot braking driver.

And now back to your regularly scheduled topic....

eidt: been driving legally for 21 years, used to autocross regularly (a manual).

Don't...like...driving? You must suck at meneuvering in tight spaces, among other things my crazy friend. :P

Hellsharpt I've used an autostick system; yeah, it was fun, better than a standard automatic...but it couldn't compare to what a good driver can do in a 5 or 6 speed. Also, manual tranny is lighter than an automatic tranny.

Also, automanic tranny has more problems in the long run. Way more shit to go wrong than in a manual system.

Hmm, if you've been autocrossing for that long then I obviously can't deny your experience. All I'm doing is relating mine. I learnt to drive on a tiptronic, and I currently use a standard auto as my daily driver. It does the most retarded things...certainly things that I myself wouldn't be doing if I was doing the shifting. I don't know where you get this basis that most cars now-a-days can shift as well as a good manual driver. It's simply not true.

I live in the chicagoland area, traffic blows and I have a 45 min commute and after 10 years of driving a stick I stopped. My left foot got tired.
