got the brady-manning matchup, chiefs got served first round. even the 49ers winning the super bowl wouldn't put a damper on how this years playoffs went
i think this is actually one of the better super bowl matchups of recent memory. peyton in his twilight years against the best defense in the league? yes please

I could not be happier with the outcome of this game. **** all the mannings. The only possible way I could be happier is if they force Peyton into retirement after this monumental ass whooping.
Wow. I did not think anything like that would happen.
The question you will be hearing for the rest of the off-season: Is the NFC tougher/better than the AFC?
Maybe they are. After watching the whooping the Seahawks just put on the Broncos, maybe the NFC teams are better. The 49ers vs Seahawks game was close, maybe they could of beat the Broncos too.

Shut up, 'dik. If you don't show up to the superbowl, you're a bunch of retards who should quit, en masse, from the NFL.
But that's not what happened. The Hawks played better in every single aspect of the game and whooped the best that the AFC had to offer, which wasn't much.
I'm embarrassed to say that I only predicted a 37-17 win by the Hawks. I'll never underestimate them like that again.
And yeah, the niners, cards, saints and panthers all could have beaten the Broncos.

Even what you "know" is wrong. Touchdown is 6, field goal after it is 1. Field goal with no preceding touchdown is 3. If you cause the opponent to go down in the wrong end zone, it's 2. If you get a touchdown and go for another one instead of a field goal, that is also 2.
People often consider a touchdown 7, because teams almost always go for a field goal after it. The broncos had 8, because they got a touchdown, then went for 2 (another touchdown) and succeeded.

Yea I don't understand the rules of handegg either... It just never interests me...How points are scored I had some clue but beyond that nada...Field goal looks sorta cool though...

Field goals are the most boring part of the game. The basics of football are very easy to learn, it's once you get past those basics where the rules can get confusing.

lol.. let's not get carried away here. niners sure, the rest.. capable yeah but not overly likely.
can't say i'm surprised with the seahawks winning.. didn't think it'd be by 20+ though. honestly i just wanted to see a good game, and this one was pretty much done by the end of the 1st quarter.
obligatory reddit copy-paste to sum this one up

I was going for the Seahawks cause Broncos beat my team earlier in the post season. I wanted to see a good game however, but obviously it was super one sided.

Pass def. ranking of the teams I named:
SEA - 1 CAR - 3 ARI - 5 NO - 6 SF - 10
Pass def. ranking of Bronco opponents this year:
BAL - 9 NYG - 8 OAK - 30 PHI - 25 DAL - 27 JAX - 26 IND - 13 WAS - 22 SD - 31 KC - 7 NE - 14 TEN - 16 HOU - 24
Outside of their first two games and KC, Denver didn't play a decent pass defense. And none of the teams they played ranked higher than NO, ARI and CAR. It's clear that Denver got to the SB by beating up very soft pass defenses. The fact that SEA had to play all those defenses and in their last 7 games played the 6, 10, 8, 5, 15, 6 (again) and 10 (again) pass defenses meant that SEA was primed to take on Denver's 21st ranked defense. The last lower-half pass defense SEA played was MIN, ranked 29, and SEA put up 41 points on them.
I don't mean to get carried away, but I think all of those teams have the personnel to shut down the Broncos. Assuming they had the right scheme (and they all have good coaches), I'd take them against Peyton Manning.

I agree 100 percent. The bronco's were an overhyped team, Somehow they went into the superbowl with the same record as the seahawks but everyone was talking about it like the bronco's were gonna be playing the lions or the Farking jets.
Also handegg is cool once you learn the rules and such. I felt the same way about baseball & soccer until I learned to understand the stats, rules, etc.
Spoiler!

Qi, as long as the stats keep saying the Seahawks are best, I'm gonna keep quoting them. I'll let you know when the stats say GB is a contender.
Overall, Dallas was ranked 30th in Defense, followed only by GB and SD (both playoff teams BTW). However, their variation was the second highest in the league, meaning that they played well in some games but in most games they sucked beyond belief. Indianapolis had the highest variation but their defense was ranked right in the middle, at 16. Which means they sucked and excelled a great deal, but in equal shares.
The funny thing is that the worst teams are very consistently crappy but the best teams, with the exception of Baltimore, are pretty inconsistent and have a few games each year where the defense will fall apart and rely on their offense. If there is an upside to Dallas, its that they've had some bright spots and can improve. Unless they build up in trade or drafts, teams like MIN, JAX, ATL, GB and SD aren't going to improve. Not with the coach/personnel they currently have.
Please spare everyone the condescension. We get it, you're the most informed football fan here.
The Seahawks won, they're the best team in the league this season. You don't need to ram down our throats how much better they are than everyone else.
The stats comment was a joke. "AP Sports" is the sports division of the Associated Press. They were slobbering all over the Pey-Pey and the donks for two weeks.
I'll be sure to wait up for your report on when the Packers are going to be relevant again.
