For **** sake, what a rip-off.

I can tell you never did good on the SAT...You are guessing that I am not prescribed, which is true atm. But I am going to the doctor to get a prescription, ADHD isn't very hard to fake. No one sells the pills at my high school anyways.

You could also find a doctor (works even better when they're family) who'll prescribe regardless of your medical condition which makes it legal but doesn't change the fact that taking drugs to score higher on some test is a retarded plan.

Getting a prescription to treat actual ADHD is different than getting a prescription to treat a faked ADHD so you can focus on tests better.

Just a bit of facts! "Side Effects" Quote: Adderall and Adderall XR for ADHD
The main side effects of Adderall and Adderall XR include anorexia (loss of appetite), insomnia (difficulty sleeping), weight loss, emotional lability, increased tics, abdominal pain (stomachache) and depression.
You should not take Adderall if you have a heart defect, other heart problems, including high blood pressure, and heart or blood vessel disease, an overactive thyroid, glaucoma, or a history of drug abuse.

No list of contraindications when it concerns other meds he might take? You should do your homework better.

^ Nah.. I don't think so. lulz Quote: Obviously, Adderall is not a drug that should be tampered with. If you are prescribed Adderall by a doctor, be sure that he or she is reputable and understands your medical history and any medications you are currently taking. Also be sure that you never take more than the prescribed amount and that you following all dosing or use instructions carefully. If you are not prescribed Adderall, you should not take it. Whatever “positive” side effects you may feel occur, gambling with your life is simply not worth it. Wanna know Moar?

You could also find a doctor (works even better when they're family) who'll prescribe regardless of your medical condition which makes it legal but doesn't change the fact that taking drugs to score higher on some test is a retarded plan. I do have an Uncle who is a doctor. I know he would prescribe me if I asked, but its the awkwardness of asking that's the true problem. You're right about the doctors being able to see past people but you're giving them too much credit. Tons of people still fake ADD/ADHD to get a prescription. I don't care if you think my plan is retarded, lots of people use adderall for both SATs and college exams. It's not like I'm just going to go in there, and score 400 points higher because I am taking adderall. I am the one studying to get my score up, I am putting in most of the hard work. The adderall is just to make sure I concentrate and stay wide awake. Which brings me to another topic, why does the damn test have to be so early in the morning!!!

inky wrote: Lol. The Adderall will not make you concentrate, that's more of a placebo effect college students who abuse it would swear by. If you don't have ADHD, you don't physiologically need it to concentrate. It's a CNS stimulant - it will make you feel euphoric and restless. Then again, you're not taking it so you can study hard; you're taking it because you're partially curious about it and at the same time, drawn to the hype. If you don't realize that yet or you're in deep in denial, I suggest some introspection. The same can be achieved without going through such lengths but hey, it's your life. Good luck on your SAT. You are absolutely correct about the bold part. I'm not sure if its placebo or not, but I want to give it a try at the least to make sure I am not passing up on an opportunity. I also understand I can start putting more concentration into my reading, but that takes time and practice. I have 1 more month to prep for the SAT and I am already putting an hour or two a day on that, I really cba to put another hour on practicing how to stay concentrated. I probably wouldn't get that much better at concentrating in a month anyways.

For me, trying to fap while on any sort of stimulant is like trying to push a cooked noodle through a coffee straw. It just doesn't work.

The only thing that might be different, besides the name obviously, is the fact that methylphenidate can be presribed as a normal, a control-released or a sustained-released preparation.

Yea, I know it's the same but the form I am taking or at least the dose is different from the "normal" dose of Ritalin. I took "normal" Ritalin for 8 years and had to take it twice a day for it to last for a day of school, and the pill looks like a little circle. The one I am taking now is I guess a longer lasting, but smaller dose, so I guess you can call it a control-released dose, but I can tell you one thing the effect of the one which I am taking now differs greatly from the "normal" Ritalin.

I drink a Monster while I study and during the test. You have to take the test in the same state you were in when you studied or you get a lower grade. Study while coked up on a stimulant? Take test while coked up on a stimulant. That's all Adderall is; a really strong stimulant. Drink some strong coffee or redbull/monster before you study, while you study, before the test, and during the test if you're really that concerned about scores. You'll be good. Just don't form a dependency.

Yeah, at work, if I make double shifts, I'd just drink Monster or RedBull.

Well theres a difference between being unmotivated, unchallenged or have a "serious mental health problem like ADHD" and just being plain lazy...
Some people work hard for their grades even though ot may be boring. If school work is easy and ur not dumb then y arent u getting A's in everything already? Studying helps a lot more then drugs do. No matter how alert your brain is you wont learn anything if you dont try to learn it.

You're not getting A's. If you wanted to put in 10 hours of study a night, you could. Same goes for everyone.. People claim they put in the hard yards when in fact they only go half the way.
