Used to have trouble with the spending/saving formula, but it's ok now. I save a part and I only buy things I really need or want..........most of the time.

Sometimes it's just nice to just spend it on things you don't really need. :)

The house is paid for so no monthly rent, but there are school taxes and property taxes though :(

My new car is also fully paid off as well

Here are my monthly bills that I can remember (I know I have a lot more bills):

Cell phone - $90
Electricity - $300-350 (dont know why)
Gasoline - $160
Landline & DSL - $75
Water - $40
DirecTV - $100
Food/Dining/Restaurants/Buffet - $700
House Gas Bill - $30
Entertainment - $200
Clothing - $300

Annual home insurance/flood protection - $3000
6-month car insurance premium - $1900

Of course there are other bills that are other fees too like credit monitoring, home security system, magazine subscription fees, ventrilo server fee, netflix fee, blockbuster fee, haircuts, professional massages, and a lot more goodies which increase the quality of life.

Most of my money are spent on the all latest electronics.... I probably spend about $2000/month on all the latest "toys"... if people go to my room yall can probably stay in there forever :P

I don't keep a budget at all since for the most part my income is greater than my expenditures. Some of my friends call me an impulse buyer, but I'm really not. I don't see why a person should hoard all the money... you just enjoy life and you never know what will happen tomorrow.

And to the person that made the comment about putting all their money into their IRA... I see no logic in that. When you're old, there is a very limited amount of things you can do. :P

duuuuuude, some nice job you have for a student
$700 for food alone  $300 clothes, $2000 on "toys". $3000 already, all your bills together go in to $4000. Plix giev me yu0r job?

Or he's got income for school and living costs from a parent or relative, and he's using all the extra cash he told them he'd need for whatever reason for all of his toy's and to live in general luxury. :P

I have a nice little lump in the bank but im kind of a no noncense kinda guy when it comes to shopping. I go into a shop and i know what i want, to me nothing else is there, just the thing i want. i go in, get it, pay for it and im out. I guess im lucky there.

Im not so good on the internet though, i mean its so easy to order things, just "click" and ooooh, there goes £300 on something i dont need... I bought god knows how many albums on itunes one night. That stupid "listeners also bought" window! :banghead:

I'm fairly fortunate that my only interest is in tech so I only have to spend big once each year...like right now. :(
But I'll be able to play Bioshock on full settings. :D

If you live in the US, you technically don't even get the paper.

not sure about other places but in england there are alot of places where you can sort of barter, i.e get money off. ive done it before. they just dont tell you that you can and people are just scared to ask! You can even barter over stupid little things in some places, like when the sims 2 came out i managed to get £5 off :D lol. (i sold it a week later)
