its been hotter here. im sure that since the majority of you are between 12-17 this is the first very hot season you have had to endure. 10-15 years from now this will happen again.

Real question, why do some countries (USA in particular) use Farenheit, considering that Freezing point lands on 0 degrees celcius and boiling point 100, why would you use farenheit when freezing point is a number like 32F.

Because Americans like to be different. Miles instead of Km, Farenheigh instead of Celsius.

Because we are too stupid to understand that 30 could be represented as a high temperature. We need shit near 100 to truly appreciate it.
Miles and measurements are too deeply ingrained in our society to change.

Miles and measurements are too deeply ingrained in our society to change. this and americans think they are better than everyone else if they are different. Its in the same vein as using "soccer", enjoying football when nobody else does, and using stupid measurement systems like miles and pounds.

This is getting Off topic lol, but I agree even though I live here. However it's mostly the government themselves that think they are Mr. Hot-Shit. It would be awesome if the world was Sugar and Rainbows, but the fact is not that.

Cool, people completely ignore the fact that USA has slowly been changing things over to Metric. If you're expecting people in USA to switch overnight, you're just retarded.

The worst shit is having a car that has both metric and imperial parts on it.

"slowly"? dude, I am over 30 and they have been "switching" since elementary school. We got taught both systems in school, but if they'd stick with metric, it would have been easier to memorize one system instead of having to know both. Cars and bikes and boats are all a b*tch to work on because they contain metric AND Imperial bolts/nuts/etc. On the plus side, stuff is so close I can get by sometimes with, say, a 11 mm socket instead of 1/4 or w/e.

Yeah I thought about the irony of me posting that, in my own thread about hot weather, but proceeded to do it anyway.

Yes, most american schools teach both now. All mine did, I'm pretty sure 50 years from now, americans would be comfortable if they made an overhaul to metric system. And do you guys know the news when someone at NASA fcked up metric-imperial units and they shot a satellite somewhere comnpletely random and lost it when it was supposed to go to jupiter or some other planet. Might as well throw like $234 billion into the garbage bin.
