Well, sometime my computer just stops responding. The LED on my chassis stops to blink, the desktop is frozen and out of my speakers I can just hear BRRR or something like that. I'm not asking why this happens, but it someone might know what it is it would be nice to know it. My main problem is, that after I get back to my desktop some applications won't even start. I know, at first when I turned on my PC I had about 60 processes running, then at some day there were just about 50. Today I had about 60 processes again after start-up, I play Silkroad like everyday and BANG. I restart and see it again. This time about 20 applications didn't start. I tried to reboot, didn't help. So I'd like to know, is there any way to get it to the old state? I'm not feeling like installing services for every application again or even reinstall everything. <_<
Thanks for any help in advance.

I've got NOD32 running all the time as my antivirus. For spy ware removal/prevention I've got Spybot-SD and aSquared. So it can't be a virus.
As for my computer... it might really be a bit outdated... >_<
Spoiler!
Manufacturer: ASUS Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) Memory: 2046MB RAM Hard Drive: 160 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS Monitor: LG L226W (Digital) [22" LCD] (171119325) Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio output Speakers/Headphones: Genious Keyboard: Millenium Mouse: Canyon CNR-MSOPT4 Mouse Surface: None Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236) Motherboard: ASUS Computer Case: akasa
Just kidding.
I believe it's a Intel bug, people are talking about Intel processors being bugged here a there a bit. Might be one of the bugs.
I'm currently in the 3rd grade of computer engineering secondary school and I know a lot of this. But I can't get this fixed. So I though maybe somebody from here could know what's about this and how I could recover the start-up applications. Because it's annoying to add them manually, again. <_<

Did you download the processor fix for SP3? supposedly there is a problem with the processor and something with SP3.
You can download it from a website to get the fix, dose it work? I don't really know.
You can contact the PC maker for the website I do not really know where it is online I just know of it because it was recommended for me when I was having problems. I contacted HP over the internet in a chat room and they gave me a page for me to download the fix so the processor would fix some type of STOP command or some thing like that.
I just wiped my hard drive and recovered my computer so its back to where it was before the problem now.

I'll see if I'll find something. Thanks for the advice, may fix the freeze problem, but still, have to recover my start-up applications. >_<

Lol,
Well, seeing as your screen locks up and your sound jams . I'm guessing it's an overheat problem.
Next time it happens open up your case if the warranty has gone .. and attempt to touch your gpu. If it's bloody hot .. there's your prob. Buy new fan / card / industrial fan etc etc.
If not dunno, but that was basically my prob. Now I keep a mini deskfan wedged in my case lol. Ghetto modding ftw.

Damn you beat me to the punch. It seems like your computer is overheating which causes most computers to randomly "freeze". Add a fan or replace the one you have, they don't cost much. Odd because usually AMD requires more fans than normal, Intel's usually are okay. BTW, what power supply are you running?

If the list of programs is deleted. Well, lol You have to reinstall programs or add them manually in registry, key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
I recommend a good tool for maintenance pc: TuneUp Utilities Do sometime CleanUp and Disk Defragment too.

It can't be overheating, I've been at 100°C already before I blew out the dust. Right now it at about 50°C~60°C.
I de-fragment regularly.
I think I'll format my computer in a few days, though I have to get Windows XP x64. May be better.
@brentonsbbe359 I still don't get it... I thought you wanted to point me out I've posted in the wrong forum. Well, whatever. I'll take a look at all the topics later.
