There is no way that they are going to Nuke the oil spill.
The fallout would obviously be blown onto the United States and other countries around the bomb's perimeter. It would be a bigger catastrophe if it was nuked.
Load of crap.

Seriously and the radiation in that area would be phenomenon. Unless you wan't radiation sickness people won't be going to the gulf of mexico unless they're wearing a full suit of protection. It would also kill more wildlife in the area than the actual oil spill. Whoever thought nuking it was a bright idea should get a gang of ninjas to give him or her surprise butt seckks.

I really have to wonder, is this BP's mindset?
Ok guys, we have a problem here. Ok guys, we have tried to plug the hole, and that failed. Ok guys, we have tried to put a specialized cap on it, and that failed. Ok guys, we realized we are in deep shit, but we keep failing. Ok guys, we need to think of another way to either a)plug the hole or b)put a specialized cap on it Ok guys, we are thinking, and millions of barrels of oil are spilling into the ocean. Ok guys, we need to keep thinking, whilst the US Government and public chews us out. Ok guys, we still need to find a way to a)plug the hole or b)put a specialized cap on it. Ok guys, we will continue to think, until our next deadline, whilst billions of gallons of oil spread into the ocean
Do they not see the error of their ways?
Personally, and im not kidding here. FOR THE TIME BEING. Until a more permanent solution is found, why not a funnel, of re-enforced concrete (which is actually simple and cheap to make) the size of 1 half of a Tennis court or something, and lower it on-top of the leak.
Will it have a perfect seal? Hells no. Will it stop the oil from gushing out the leak? Hells no. Will it still have small amounts of oil seeping out. Yes. Will it contain the majority of the oil, allowing it to be pumped out to a safe holding area, whilst the brainiacs think of a permanent solution? FUCK YES!

the nuke doesnt fix the existing oil problems. costner has the right idea. i have sat around wondering why a machine like this wasnt already in the working.
because one side pumps out the water. one side pumps out the oil. but where would these two be kept? that's right, the same place, and they'll mangle again into the watoil that it already was.

hopefully all his machines blows up, he has enough money.
so you'd rather he just hoard his money or spend it on useless shit rather than invest 20 million dollars in a machine that filters oil out of water in case of a crisis like this...

BP's screwed tons of people are not going to buy from them after this and they are losing money from this oil leaking and now on top of that they are funding $20b to pay for loss's.
They will probably have a hard 3-4 years before people start forgetting and start buying from BP like normal.

When they talk about "nuking it" they don't mean launching a nuke at it or something -.- lol, there wouldn't be any fallout, and, the nuke would be deep underground, and controlled.
Yea it worked for Russians, couldn't say if it would work here/have the same success though. But it's not like some of you are thinking im sure ;d.
5598 million thats over 5.5 billion dollars in 1 quarter this year alone. they have essentially lost 1 years worth of net profits. big Farking whoopity do. you must not have to pay for gas or youd realize they are just going to take it out of our pockets at the pump.
there was an oil spill in 79 and in the mid 80s they were gouging the **** out of gas prices. they arent losing anything on this spill. we, the american people and the global consumer are.
Pavel Molchanov, an analyst at Raymond James, estimated the total legal cost, including criminal fines, at $62.9 billion
I don't think obama is going to back down like the noob pussy judges from exxon valdez. What a load of fcking pussies, can't bring the hammer down when you control the whole country
