Okay, I have 2 questions...
1. What the fuck is Bubble Tea? 2. Why the fuck are the ruining Tea by putting gummy bears in it?

Lempi is right that is not Tea. Put some milk into it instead of a candy shop.

Its tapioca...i've been wanting to try this for years but i've never been given the opportunity. Anyway whats the texture of the bubbles like. Are they their own separate flavor or do they absorb the flavor of the tea?

The bubble tee/cafe shop I go to weekly, has green tea/black tea based ice bbt (bubble tea), milk tea bubble tea, ice cream smoothie bubble tea, etc. So yes, it is actually tea LOL I'm actually going again today in a couple of hours, ill try to take pics for you guys Here's an ice tea bubble tea (I didn't add tapioca, cause I didn't have the time to finish it LOL) The pic Kraq posted is from google, and is a bad example of bbt, cause of the tapiocas, they look like a disease LOL As for tapioca tastes, they usually absorb only a tiny bit of the drink flavor, but they have their own distinctive taste. If you ever get the chance, order a White Chocolate Ice Cream Smoothie bubble tea with Tapioca (the black shit you see at the bottom of bbt drinks) Here's a pic of White Chocolate Ice Cream Smoothie bubble tea with Tapioca lol (Not me btw)

The popular chains around my area are Lollicup and Tapioca Express. I love them especially now during the summer time. Thai Iced Tea or Jasmine Milk Tea with these bobas. Mmmmm...
The flavor on those bobas aren't that special or that bad either. They're just there for you to chew on. Some of these pearl/tapioca/bubble/boba tea shops even have options to add jellies instead. A good one that I tried was coconut milk tea with mango jellies. \o/

Tapioca.. where have I heard that word before?
Anyways, looks farked up to me, you crazy ass americans/canadians with your "my-teeth-rot-when-looking-at-it-but-that's-why-it's-so-good" stuff like Kool Aid and this shit.
Wanna try though just to be sure.

wootpops wrote: Squirt wrote: Where can I find this in the boston area? try googling Bubble Tea Boston Yee this is crazy popular here on the West Coast, due to high amount of Asian people living here. Just go to an area where there are a high amount of Chinese people, as this is a Chinese drink. Whenever I go to the Chinatown in San Francisco, I always make sure I pick one up from the Quickly's there.

Tried it years ago and I gag when I think about it.
Probably because the first one I had was honeydew and I absolutely hate honey dew. But I can't get over it and try flavours I normally like, I just gag at the thought - like sambuca.
