I work at McDonalds. Have been for the past 7ish months. They wanted me to go into manager training but I'm to busy with school to dedicate the time to becoming a manager. I'll probably quit by next summer. Right now I'm only working 2 days a week just to help them out.
Anyways, what do you do? How long have you been doing it? Do you like it?

I've always been curious to why McDonald's managers act so cocky or arrogant like they are better than everyone else. --That has been my experience when I go there.
OT: I'm a Salt water disposal plant operator, and I work at a private school.

I work at McD's as well. Going to be too busy with university to get a better job, and they let me work 1-2 days a week during school.

I earn money while studying. I don't have the time to do a part-time job since my University is very hard, but at least I get paid for studying well.

OT: I'm a Salt water disposal plant operator, and I work at a private school. it isnt hard to not feel superior when you have a crew of slack-jawed yokels under your control. or at least this is how it was in my day as a mcds crew member/ nightshift manager. i, of course, was never like this. i enjoyed the job and like to provide a quality version of a mcdonalds product for the customer. o to be 17 again. now a days i think they are so cocky because in order to work at mcdonalds you have to speak 2 languages fluently in oder to communicate to the crew and the cusomters efficiantly. idk.

Lol'd so true. Sadly tho... The McDonalds with the spanish folks usually have the best quality and speed. While the one here in the town I live in has nothing but high school kids and drop outs working and they couldn't get an order correct to save their life, and once you finally get what you ordered it looks like shit covered in grease. But yeah, when I was in high school I had a couple friends who worked there and the managers at the time were douche bags to them and many customers.

In all honesty, you kind of have to be an ass in order to deal with all the bull shit people throw at you day in and day out. I'm not saying that it's right. But that's just how it is. Most of my managers are cool though. And, contrary to most mcdonalds, 90% of us all speak English perfectly. The ones that don't are on table and I enjoy chatting it up with them in Spanish. Their all quite nice. Also, for all you who are whining about McDonalds not getting orders right, the vast majority of the time it's because YOU people don't know how to order. For instance, yesterday I took this one lady's order through drive through, it went a little something like this. Azilius wrote: I work at McD's as well. You'll have a much greater appreciation for it after you've been the one whose getting cussed out over something that isn't your fault. Good times.

hah!
I worked at McD's before, back then the managers were chill most of the time, let me have a smoke break like 5 times in 5 hours when it was quiet, but just before I left some bitch from an other McD's came in and started Farking things up. All of the sudden I couldn't drink anymore, no more smoke breaks, no more sitting on the counter or drive-in place and no more work on the fun spots. All of the sudden the managers were smoking all the time, drinking all the time and working on the fun spots and told the normal crew that we should stop whining. Then they had the guts to fire me. Best idea that bitch ever had. Since I left I lost 40 pounds, and everytime I run into an old colleague they tell me that all the fun people either left or got fired right after me, and all the managers are total bitches now, the only fun not-egotripping quit because of the same reason an other did a year before because the big boss was being a total bitch again. I truely think that that McD's isn't going to last that long anymore. Ha. Ha.

MarshMallow wrote: Fiction wrote: I'm a Salt water disposal plant operator What kind of job is that? A very nice paying one =) In Arkansas they use salt water while drilling wells. They aren't allowed to dump it in Arkansas so they have to bring it to Oklahoma by truck to a plant. This is where I come in. I have to park the trucks on a grate, then dump the oil/water out into a pit. Then I have to pump it into the ground about 6 miles down. Once I do that I have to fill out a bit of paper work for the drivers. Usually get about 100 or so trucks a shift which is 12 hours. I don't get how you jumped to the conclusion that Cell is all that just because he stated his experiences at a McDs. Cell is clearly a liberal bastard! @Cell I'm from Houston, and around there they actually did good, they were timed too. Up here tho, they aren't timed and they aren't spanish and I'm going though what you stated. I know I know Gaige I'm a typical bigot white hating Mexican.
