Just as the title says. Also, are you satisfied with where you are at, at the moment? I'll post tomorrow, got to get some sleep now.

I'm currently studying business economics, so my goal is obiously to advance quite a lot further in life.
From the other side, i can say that for my age i think im doing pretty decent. I have a job at a bakery, i invest some money into stocks once in a while. I've got a pretty decent bank account (for a student) and my own car.
Soon i'll start a 20 week period of apprenticeship though, so im still trying to find a fairly well payed one, as i cant be working +/- 15 hours at the bakery when working 40 hours a week at apprenticeship (and school / insurance is expensive enough xD).

Couldn't sleep, so I decided to drop by and post. ^^ At the moment, I work as a programmer in the freelance market, specifically http://www.vworker.com (the former RentACoder site). It's been relatively rewarding, but also hard work, at times. The good thing about freelancing is that you can work as much as you want, when you want. Thus, work can blend in with school or other activities just to a certain degree, where it doesn't interfere with or impede anything else. The downside of working as a freelancer is, however, that the source of income is not stable enough. There are times when no good projects are available, plus, arguments can happen between myself and the employer and, at times, this can lead to a lot of wasted time. I'm in my final high school year now. I haven't really had time to work, since I'm preparing for the final exam (which follows after my final year), and, implicitly, my admission to a University. I'm probably going to study at the Technical Insitute in Vienna, since the mother tongue I study at school is not Romanian, but German. It would probably be hard to earn a living out of freelancing, but, in times of emergency, it's always a good solution. I don't do web programming (don't know enough about it yet). I specialize in C and C++, I know x86 Assembly, SQL, Oracle database management, Java, and C# and I'm learning objective C (to program iPhone and/or Mac applications ^^ ) and ASP.NET. I also specialize in using the Qt Framework for C++; because it is a cross-platform framework, this is my choice for interface design, when my program really needs an interface. I've mainly programmed music and speech processing applications until now, basically stuff which has to do with signal analysis and processing. I've programmed a speech / music discriminator, some voice - removal and voice - recognition software, and I've also experimented with writing my own media players (not using pre-written code, by any means). I've also programmed Windows management applications, such as programs that recover deleted .doc, .pdf or .txt files from flash drives (if they haven't been fully formatted, of course), or programs that securely delete files from the hard drive (so they can't be recovered later). I plan on getting a job at Nexenta and, hopefully, work on Illumos (OpenSolaris) once I finish highschool, so I can make some money while I'm studying at the University. It should be a rewarding job! All in all, I'm satisfied, but it can only get better. I've managed to afford quite a few things from the money I've earned so far. I'm studying really hard, and it has payed off until now. Although I ranked 16th out of 100 at the National Math competition, Computer Science is probably the way to go. There's no real material gain out of studying pure Mathematics, and Maths are probably going to remain a hobby only.

Satisfied? No. Can't wait to leave home and go off to college. Well, in a way, I still am. It's complicated, really, can't be explained in just a couple of lines. 'Priesthood', as I had put it back then, should not be understood in the traditional sense of dedicating one's life (even as a profession) to God, or any Deity for that matter. Universal priesthood is a trademark of Protestant Christianity, as a matter of fact.

Brah, I know it's hard to not have sex for a long time, had that too.. the big drought of week 29 2010.. God I was so close to becoming a priest too..

Stress, all that experience and still in high school? You should do extremely well in the software industry.
I'm a 3rd year computer science major. Wish I had done 1/4 of the things you have in HS when I was in HS.

Uni student I work 4 hours a week which serves as food money, but I'm not going to spend $40~ a week on food so I end up saving some for whatever else. EvGa wrote: Stress, all that experience and still in high school? You should do extremely well in the software industry.

Student. Got fired from my old job for telling my boss I'd much rather be playing WoW then slaving for her fat ass on a showroom for 5 hours.

I'm a student, also I'm working for agencys, those receive calls from different deposits in around 100km range, asking for workers for a limited or unlimited time. The job is good enough to pay the rent, buy food and have some cash left for party/girls/fun.

I'm a student, although I'm attending my final class on Thursday! Which is goddam awesome.
I also work 4 days a week as a Lumberjack. Well, not technically a typical Lumberjack, but close enough for me to call myself one anyway.
Am I satisfied? Sure am! I've completed my studies with a minimum credit pass mark for every subject and I've gained a lot of muscle, fitness and increased my work ethic standards from the near 3 years I've worked my job. I've also saved a lot of money and bought a new car, too. All in all I think I'm doing well.
