So I've been having serious problems waking up since uni started. I have a Calculus lecture at 8:00 AM which translates to me waking up at 6:45 AM and catching the bus at 7:30 AM. No matter what I'll do I can't wake up early enough to attend the lecture. I'll promise myself that I'll wake up but I just end up snoozing the **** out of my alarm.
I'll usually blaze before going to sleep so I thought that might be the problem but I've tried without blazing the night prior and I still can't get up. I think deep down it might be laziness but it's getting out of control (I have a midterm next week). I'll usually hit the bed around midnight/1 which is nothing as I used to go to bed at 2:00 of the morning everyday of High School (granted classes started at 9:00 instead of 8:00).
Any tips or tricks you guys know of to wake the **** up?
P.S: I use both my iPhone and my actual alarm

Put the alarm on the other side of the room, or download an app that makes you solve a puzzle to turn off the alarm. That extra effort usually makes me more awake.

I've never had any trouble waking up. I usually set my alarm to 6:56 am but always end up waking up before it goes off.

I used to have the same problem actually.
I've been going to bed around 1-2am every night since High School. Just recently I've wanted to press the snooze seeing as I wake up around 6:30am each morning.
I fixed my problem by having my alarm play a rather annoying song. It literally makes me want to jump out of my bed and turn it off before it can even start ringing.

The time I have to wake up for work changes almost daily, so I just set an alarm clock and it works every time. I also usually end up waking up before it goes off.

Also you can try setting a computer alarm to play at max volume. The shock will launch you straight out of bed. I even squashed my cat once cause I put all my weight on him to get up... I didn't realize he was there till I heard a loud MEOOOW.

When I start work at 7am I normally set my alarm clock an hour before I have to wake up, then keep hitting snooze till I need to get up. I normally awake by the time I need to get up!

I've been waking up at 5am for the past 4 or so years or now, pretty much without fail (unless I'm partying all night, any work/study day and even most weekends I'm awake at 5am). Now days I barely need an alarm and will wake up on queue. My main tip? Go to bed earlier and do more during the day. Do a lot of hard, strenuous exercise during the day and completely wear yourself out. You'll be so tired that you'll go to bed earlier and waking up at an earlier time won't force you to miss out on sleep. For example, I woke at at 5am today, worked till 4pm, had cricket training for 2 hours and ran laps for half an hour before training. It's 7:30pm now, I've just gotten home and I'm exhausted. I'll be in bed by 8:30pm and will wake up at 5am like normal.
Exercise and go to bed earlier. Simple as that.

Back in highschool I did have to set the alarm on my desk because I would turn it off in my sleep if it was next to my bed. Nowadays I'm often already half awake, probably because this bed sucks or maybe it's the drilling that's been going on for the past months.
Good loud melody + distance is the way to go IMO

Uhm... Back in highschool I would twitch my clock like... 20-30 mins ahead. So, I put the alarm on the time I need to get up, if it looks like I made so many snooze hits, it will look "late" but it's just actually 30 mins ahead. My mind still think is late so my body is ready and get up. It worked thru all highschool. For college... err, that's another story lol

really the only way is to wake when your alarm goes off. I used to stay in bed for 5 minutes or so, but that only makes it harder. now when the alarm goes off I just get up immediately and go wash my face. after that a good breakfast and I'm good to go.

Last year I went to sleep at 2 or later and had to wake up at 6:45. That really sucked in the morning. Now I try to go to sleep earlier. I suck at waking up though. I don't get up right after the alarm and sometimes I don't understand what's going on when I wake up and that sucks. My bus goes at 7:33 and it's quite often I have to rush since often I really get up at 7:10. It is easier to wake up in spring or when the school is about to end. Then it is brighter outside and it's much better to wake up. But sometimes it's really easy to wake up and I don't feel tired at all. Once I went to sleep at 3 and had problems falling asleep, then I was half asleep and woke up at 5 and had a feeling I had been awake the whole time. Then I didn't fall asleep for another half an hour and then woke up at 6:45. Didn't have any problems waking up at all and didn't feel tired the whole day. If you want to wake up easier, just set some splittercore with max volume as the alarm. That should get you up.

Sleep earlier. I put my alarm across the room from me. I also have my watch and cellphone set in the kitchen, so it kinda forces me to stumble around. If that fails, cold water works too.

Set as many alarms as you need to wake up.. Just make sure it's "loud enough" to wake you up. xD

Sleeping earlier... but I don't have that option. I'm usually home by 530 PM + 4h-5h of homework easy. Its not like I stay up to game or anything. I mean I could go straight to bed after my homewok at 11ish but I do enjoy an hour or two of free time.
Gonna try putting my phone in my D3 box see if it works lol.

your doing something wrong if your spending 4-5hours on homework a night, im in uni im getting enough sleep, but even so your free time is hindering your study just go bed at 11 that hour will make a difference

How am I doing something wrong? Sure dinner can take up to 30 mins but I legit have 4-5h of homework (I have a bio and chem lab every week along with the almost daily calculus , computer sci and geo homework). A lab itself can take up to 3h to generate easily. True that sleeping at 11:00 PM would ultimately help but I can't have a day where I just go to uni and do homework without a second for myself.

My internal clock almost never fails me especially if it's for something important the next day. Otherwise I use an alarm clock.... You obviously need to adjust your habbits because its affecting you negatively now....

Although the new day never starts untill I slept no matter what time it is xD Probably why I get fcked up after pulling an allnighter.

And when I'm already falling asleep while standing, then I also like to go to bed lol.
