Had an interview today, it was very simple and easy, all the questions were like tell me about yourself, why do you want to work for us, actually before the interview I was feeling pretty confident and ready for those questions, and I was expecting them with the answers in my head. But what actually happened is that I was stammering the whole time, I was very nervous and he totally saw that, when I left I was like wtf has just happened, this was too easy to miss, but I got rejected. So any of you have ever been to a job interview, how was it and did you feel any nervous?

At the bestbuy interview, they were like why do you wantto work at BestBuy. That completely stumped me <.>

Even if you legitimately don't know, or don't want to be forthcoming to the proper reasoning (just for the money, discounts, etc.) you can BS something with a little bit about the establishment you want to work at. >,>

I've had a lot of interviews over the past year. I used to get very nervous in them but the last few I have been calm and relaxed because it just became like a regular thing.
@TheDrop I usually just say some shit like "It's a great company and I can't wait to start my career here."

I think i said something along the lines of wanting to work at a retail store rather than a foods place, which totally turned out sounding very condecending. ~.o

Well, a little "anxiety" will actually help keep you sharp and quick witted! Just don't get too cocky! xD

Never, I always prepare myself well ahead of time before the interview. The more confident you are in your answers, the less stammering I guess?
I always prepare for questions like; Why do you want to work for us? What do you know about our company? What makes you stand out from all the other candidates? What kind of worker are you? What's your biggest fault?
And then I like to follow up with questions like; What's a typical day with your company like? What does your company do to motivate the employees?
And depending on the company, I may ask what their company defines as success.

Damn, sorry to hear that, Vaya. I've only one real interview so far, which was for Nissan, which is where I'm at now.
I readied myself beforehand like Crimson said, especially since the person interviewing me goes through about 100 people a day 6 days a week trying to get into Nissan, literally. Needless to say that made me nervous as hell knowing that she turns down about 80+ people a day. I just kept my cool and answered every question as confidently and straight forward as I could. Amazingly I didn't get choked up or anything while trying not to sweat bullets.

oh well, I think I'm the least confident here then, but I guess what you're talking about is an interview in your native language, mine was an interview in English, while my native language is arabic, and I'm not as used to speak english as I'm used to type it.
also after the "tell me about yourself" he asked me about my favorite movie, I had nothing in my mind at the moment so I said twilight, it's far from being a favorite but at least it's a movie, and I think I went too far in talking about it..

The most important thing in a interview is NEVER LIE. And always take some time ( if its a small company ) to go trough there website. show a little interest in where your going to work.

My bosses gave each other the finger during my interview (jokingly) and on my resume it said I was taking pilot lessons, so he asked me if I could help them smuggle drugs across the border. It was a very funny and relaxed interview I must say.

The twilight response is why you didn't get the job.

@Vaya: Preparing yourself to answer some of the more common questions as well as researching the company's website beforehand isn't your main problem... Your real problem is obviously being nervous during interviews....
What you can do to fix your nervousness going forward is to apply for all sorts of jobs you don't want just for the interviewing experience.... You will find that there is no pressure in interviewing for a job you don't really care about obtaining... No pressure in trying to impress the hiring manager or worries about appearing incompetent (even if you do)... Simply because you know you're not here for the job......You will find it far more relaxing.....After doing a few of these you will be 10x better at it and feel way more relaxed interviewing for the jobs you do care about..... experience is golden.....
In some cases it might even be OK to tell the hiring manager that you're here just for the interviewing experience....In case you feel bad about wasting the interviewer's time...

Tasdik wrote: Which one do you work at? Smyrna? Yeah. It's not too bad. The cars are built right, but I can't say the same for the SUVs. Our defect rate is under 5%, whereas the SUVs have so many defects Nissan is threatening to cut jobs or the entire SUV line. I'd avoid any non-Japanese built Nissan/Infiniti other than a Maxima.

I just go and kill it. I don't even "prepare" for it, just be cool and keep calm.
