I never feel any remorse or sadness for the people who die or get badly injured from these attacks simply because they're directly participating in the animal's captivity and exploitation for profit.... It's part of the reason why I stop going to zoos.....I'm not gonna help some Zoo owner further his goals of earning money from the captivity of wild animals...
Something else I never understood....Most Zoo keepers will tell how much they love animals and that's why they choose their career....but how can you love animals and yet help them stay captive in a prison?...removed from their natural habitat of vast open space...

seeing the contents of the video I put it in a spoiler and changed the title slightly
This is some next level stupid shit. They had a gun the whole time? They're endangered yes, but between a cat and a human life I think the choice should be relatively easy. Ya we talk shit saying the man deserved it for being so stupid but let's not forget death is permanent and it's highly likely the lion dying would be a better result (for the lion too, remember it's in captivity..).
Really wish I didn't watch that video though =(
edit:
also wtf, the guys mouth is stuck in his head and the next instruction is 'shoot the lion in the head'. With that already awful aim (missed twice?) wtf. This is just stupid =\

I was more worried about the "shoot him in the stomach" comment. What's a small caliber revolver round [probably a .38] going to do to a 500 pound lion stomach? Not a damn thing. 6 shots to the gut, he'd be lucky if the lion let go in the next 5 minutes.
It's sad to see the lion die, and it sucks for the guy who was getting chewed up like a dog's bone. Do you happen to have the story behind this?
I didn't watch the video, but the preview is enough to turn me off. FFS, put a NSFW tag. Or put it in a fucking spoiler for crying out loud. That shit is against the rules for a reason.
I won't watch it.. But It’s his own Farking fault... he shouldn’t have been in the cage in the first place! and neither should the lion! Seriously.. wild animals shouldn't be held in captivity as they are WILD animals. No sympathy for the idiot concerned..!

It isn't as gore at it seems. The man survives (at least, he moves at the end.) what's gore is when they shoot at the lion about 4 times and he falls down.

did you know there are some breeds of animal only found in captivity, without a zoo they would be extinct, they breed the animals to help repopulate andss keep a living record of animals for future generations, some zoos are bad yes but a lot are good for what they do for the animals that video is of a circus which is different that is exploitation

Well, this was different. Ofcourse a human will help a human, but these people just have it coming. People still think they can mess with instinct. I don't like zoos and I hate the circus.

Finally, a voice of reason. What's better an entire species of animal getting wiped off the face of the earth never to be seen again or to have a few of them living in captivity being cared and pampered for everyday for the rest of their lives? Not to mention that they will be breeding and slowly increasing the numbers of the population.

Dumbass. Anyone who goes in a cage with a lion, crocodile, or a bear knows the risk and if they get mauled its there own damn fault. You went into his home he defended it.

Would have been cooler if the lion played possum after the first couple shots then just went rage mode on all of them when they went inside to retrieve the guy.

So your saying if you had the choice you'd rather die than live in prison? It's essentially the same shit. They feed you and put a roof over your head but you can run free.
Zoos are not all bad. Don't judge their living conditions based on this zoo from IRAN. Chances of survival in the wild are very slim for some animals..especially big cats. Food scarcity etc..not to mention poachers and what not. Also zoos are there to educate us..well the melbourne/Australia zoo is at least. And as others have said, for breeding purposes and to sustain endangered species.

Yes! You've lost your freedom. Do I need to say more? Seriously, zoo is a prison... for animals who have been sentenced without trial! Why not.. legislation to protect wildlife "from poachers and habitat destruction"?
Zoos don't only have endangered species... Yes, people want to preserve species and save any from extinction, but the question is, should we? It's just a part of evolution.

Yeh well...i guess that question is subjective. Id hate to see tigers go extinct in my lifetime so id do anything to preserve them. And since a lot of these animals are going endangered due to human disturbances, i guess some people feel obligated to protect them.

Would you like someone to place you in a facility so they can care for you ...under the idea that they need to protect you? because you could be hurt or killed (something even us humans live with everyday)....Give you everything you need with the only exception being you can never leave the enclosure they prepared for you for the rest of your natural life???...would you be OK with that???
The fact is the majority of animals in Zoos (I'd wager 80%+) are not in danger of being extinct. If a Zoo was a facility dedicated to protecting animals from being extinct it wouldn't be such a fun place to go because it would lack diversity....Instead it's a place filled with corporate sponsorship shown in the form of advertisements placed at each animal exhibit...Incentives to keep the animals locked up for life...
My apologies for not spoiler-ing and NSFW-ing the video...

Your freedom as well as the animal's freedom outweighs all that....I believe our world is dangerous enough but most of us would rather live in it than be confined to a protective bubble for life... And no Zoo will ever be a substitute for the miles of roaming radius for some of these animals...
Whats wrong with caring for wild animals in the wild...Medicating them in their natural habitat an and letting them be after? There are so many conservationist efforts that works well where the animals are protected in their natural habitat.

They are more like sanctuary's. Dunno what zoos you've been to...does this look like a prison to you?
Spoiler!
That's an Wildlife Hospital... that cares for injured "wild animals" That means.. they would give rehabilitation.. before they being released back into the wild. Well, that's another matter!
