I love golfs, and reckon it'd be sweet to get one, but since I don't have a full license yet (And won't for another 3 years, when I'm 22), I won't be able to drive any car with turbo (Or over 200 horsepower). I don't think there's any point in me buying one that isn't a gti... so I'm going to have to wait

Woah. Why can't you have a "full" license? Is that how things are where you are?
Well, it isn't necessarily a full license. What happens is on your 16th birthday, you go to the department of transport, and take a test to get your Learner license. Your Learner license (or L's) means that when you drive, you need to have a yellow plate or magnet identifying that you are a learner driver. You are also given a logbook, in which you need to have driven at least 100 hours in total (10 night hours). On your L's, you can drive around in a Mclaren F1 if you had it, but an adult with their open (full license) MUST be your passenger when you drive.
Once you've had the L's for a year, and the hours done, you take an actual driving test with an instructor to get your red provisional's. By having your P's, you can now drive by yourself, but you are limited to what cars you can drive. Nothing over 200 hp, turbo is generally not allowed (unless its in a shitty little v4 with no power at all) etc.
You have red P's for a year, then you take an online reaction test (Called the hazard perception test), where you need to identify hazards in a set time (any longer, and you fail the test). There isn't much difference between red and green P's, except you have the green ones for 2 years.
Now, I didn't get my L's until like 7 months after I turned 16, then broke my leg, so I couldn't drive for 6 months. I ended being lazy as f
uck, and waiting for like 4 days before my L's expired before I did my driving test to get my red P's. Usually, people are on their opens at like 20, but since I cbfed doing the test (Mind you, if I recorded all my hours, I'd have had like 300) I won't get mind till like 22.

Now if any of you come to Australia, you'll know how to get your license
