So, a few weeks ago I moved from TN -> ND to move in with my older brother, best friend (Xan), and a married couple I knew back in highschool.

Anyhow, apparently Xan invited one of his old coworkers to come live with us as well. We all trust Xan reasonably well, so when Xan said he was a "Good guy" we took his word for it.

Now, as it turns out, this friend of Xan's has a pretty wild past. Talking drug dealing, convicted felon, violent, etc. We were unaware of any of this when we had agreed to let him live with us. Xan was aware of the drug problem, but said he'd quit, so whatever.

However, come to find out, the guy hasn't quit drugs (and is considering starting to deal again), is incredibly moody, and apparently put the gun we have in the house into his mouth and almost pulled the trigger and committed suicide. Having said that, he's a really friendly dude, for the most part.

So, the problem is, how do we proceed from here?

Tell him to move out or kick him out, politely of course.

See, that'd be the ideal option, given the circumstances, but there's a few problems with that.

1. He doesn't have a license and/or car.

2. He is practically broke. *He spent all his money moving up here and finding a job, which he did, but he hasn't gotten his first decent paycheck yet*

3. He doesn't have any other people he knows up here.

So, he'd essentially be screwed if we did that.

Then again, perhaps thats exactly what he needs.

Just shoot him and put him out of his misery...

one more thing, lock the gun away before he does something stupid, to his self or others..

He hasn't paid anything yet since he just started the job and has to wait for paychecks to start coming in. But he was going to, or at least, that was the plan.

If he doesn't pay throw his ass out otherwise I don't see a problem here, he's a felon so what? Aslong as he doesn't threaten to or harm any other roommates than he should be fine.

But tbh, if he working and pays his way then its ok, let his freind have a quiet word with him about dealing drugs, if he decide to do this then he out the door, last thing anyone wants is police and crack heads coming to your house.

Ask him to bust out lines of coke and all you guys have a crack party.....bring out all the guns too..fireworks are nice...

Seriously though:

Xan is your answer...You gonna have to share with Xan what you told us here....and ask Xan to either move out with him or get him to leave....Xan brought him in the house knowing that he's a problem and didn't mention it...

I wouldn't keep him if he isn't paying rent. Even if he's insane and friendly, rent is why you should stay. I hope you guys made a contract stating if nobody pays rent after X months they'll get kicked out.

Sounds like the main source of his problems is money and drugs.
If you guys can help him stay away from the drug business and help him manage his money properly, perhaps it will turn for the better.

Try not to pressure him into paying the rent too much. Just interest yourself in his earnings and give him some tips or something to ensure he has enough. If he's the good guy you and your friend say he is he should be honest enough to pay up.
If he's not doing drugs there's nothing else for him to do with it anyway.

oh yeah and hide the gun...

Honestly, that doesn't sound good.
Well, as long as he pay rent, doesn't drug dealing/taking any drugs... In the house!
Ultimately, you and your friend can get in trouble... Just for being in the situation your in.

IDGAF if he does drugs or not, problem is, we all give him rides to work. And I'd rather not get pulled over with him having a backpack full of drugs in my car.

And it should be noted that last night one of our housemates walked in to find him rolling up weed on the living room counter. (Again, idgaf about weed. Just having illegal substances in my house.)

Lol nu! Y'all are missing the point. He's going to start paying rent. He was just waiting on his first paycheck to come in.

But yeah, Xan is the key. Sadly, he's out of the state until tomorrow afternoon. But I'll be sure to have a talk with him about it when he gets back.

That I can understand, don't drive with drugs in your car period. Coming from experience it is not worth the risk even if he says they are all his you will most likely get a loitering charge.

Having weed in the house isn't horrible because its very unlikely that any trouble will come of it unless he's dealing. The issue arises with the smell, weed is a heavy distinct smell so neighbors may be able to smell it. If he has his own room tell him to confine it to there and leave the windows open if possible. You can try to have him quit but that may not work.

I'd say if he brings anything harder than weed into the house throw his ass out.

Also you guys are roomies now, you'll have to deal with problems with eachother eventually just handle smoothly with the guy.

See, I don't really have a problem with the drugs. More so just the fact that he seems to be a bit mentally unstable (Example being the whole gun in mouth thing). And when he's stable, he's cool as shit. But I'm worried that one day he might snap, and go beserk. Which, if it was just me and a bunch of guys here, then it's be whatever. But we also have to take into account that there's a woman (wife of a buddy) who's living with us too. And I'd feel like shit if she somehow got hurt while we were all at work or something.

But yeah, we'll see.

P.S. WTB vegeta as a bodyguard. ;)
