Well, i bought a new computer a few months back.

In my old computer i had a geforce fx 5700 which was pretty good, but it was just pci so it doesn't fit in this comp (pci-e)

Any suggestions? i have 150 euro's to spend ( ~200$)

thanks :)

If you have a good enough power supply unit you should get the 8800 gts

if you cant spare an extra $50 then youll have to settle for 7 series

Im ordering the 640mb nvidia 8800gts on monday :D, i was gonna get a GTX cus the prices were dropping really fast, then they stopped dropping a little over my price range :banghead:

Anywho, thats a bit out of your price range, you can get one of the middle to high end nvidia 7 series ones for that much i think.

You COULD get an ati(or amd, whatever you want to call them now) but i would have to kill you.

Thx for the replies guys.

I'm going for a 7 series card unless my dad can sponsor me a lil more :P

Goin to the stores saturday.
I think ATI has good cards. ATI has simple configuration software and besides that the quality is very good.

btw power supply won't be a prob.

Stick with series 7. Not worth going for DX10 yet unless you have the budget for a really high-end machine, in my opinion.

I once had 4x GeForce 7900GTX (my dad's company made me test em in quadcore), and they performed 2gb.

the 8800GTX (768mb) hasnt got the most memory but its part of the 8 series which uses a newer type of technology than the 7 series which have more. Thats why the 8 series are 320/640/768mb, instead of like the older technology which is 4/8/16/32/64/128/256/512/1024mb, although technically, the 1024mb ones are only 512 because there are multiple gpus in them.

You truly no shit about computers.......

Oh and to add to it, you can get better than 7-series cards for same price, but not my money, you go ahead and waste it :)
