HALO 3 Review and the Hype

I went out and brought an xbox360 yesterday...a few games on it as well but I cannot wait for halo 3. To say that this game is going to be big is stating something that everyone knows, and with an expected and predicted sales figure of around $200 million USD is no wonder that this will be the biggest game of all time ($200 million USD, I personally can even envision it going much higher then that). Because lets face it...halo=big, halo=big bucks, halo=big fun for all gamers...not since half life has there been so much buzz over a FPS (first person shooter) game then there is now. But people it’s not just the glorious looking graphics, consent adapting AI or intense fire fights...it’s the story driven game play at the heart of halo that makes it a much loved fan fav. In the not to distant future humanity runs into a collection of alien races called the Coverenet who believe that mankind is an affront to their gods and so decided to wipe out all trace of humanity form the galaxy...with humanity’s colonies wiped out and earth in ruins (begining of halo3) mankind’s only hopeis the cybernetic enhanced super solder the Master Chief...throw in anunstoppable alien organism that consumes all organic life...and a weapon capable of wiping out all life in the galaxy and you have a story better then most Hollywood blockbusters or best selling novels.

and from the looks of things halo3 is set on earth with the Master Chief teaming up with the Arbiter to stop the Coverenet from activating the ark,
this in turn will wipe out all life in the galaxy. But halo is not just action. it does what few games do, link itself to doomsday and biblical references to the point that it seems they were meant to fit together...take the flood...unstoppable deadly race which would destroy all life and the only way to stop them is to active the ark (buried on earth) this in turns turns on the halo rings. Downside being the only way to stop the flood is to wipe out their food source (all life in the galaxy)...but wait...sound familiar. Didn't god tell Noah to build an Ark to escape the flood? hmmm interesting...either way Halo 3 will have an opening bigger then only a few Hollywood blockbusters and go down in history as one of the greatest games of all time.

(watch these in order posted and after all of them it makes sense...cool as hell)

New halo novel coming soon as well

Im betting the story in the game isnt going to be going to deep again though, it didnt really go very deep in the first 2. Only getting the game for singleplayer, not gonna be playing it online atal.

Also, the master cheif isnt cybernetic.

i suppose he is although it just kinda sounded like you were saying he is part robot, lol. He can take off the suit so he isnt always enchaned in that way.

Xbox 360 Live will crash and fail miserably when Halo 3 comes out (like the 2 seconds it comes out the whole online server will crash and burn to the ground lol)

Most of the other spartans died, he has to die eventually, alot of them were better than him in lots of ways, he is just a better leader and gets lucky.

ummm what? hes the only Spartan...the rest were destroyed before the
beginning of halo 1 when the covenant attack Reach...so when halo 1
starts Master Chief is the only Spartan MK2 in existence.
origionly there was an entire squad full of Spartans MK2, their mission
to board and capture a covenant mothership and find the covenant home
world. But the day before the mission the colony of Reach was attacked and
the master chief was the only one to make it out alive

There is alot of stuff that happens that is never mentioned in the games. There are other spartans that should be alive and some that were registered as KIA but there was no proof they actually were. One was even in a setup accident to make it looks like he had gone MIA but was infact alive. It would be nice if they actually bring some of these into halo 3 instead of just leaving them in books. Thats as much as im saying though, other wise im gonna be talking about halo for hours.

I only played Halo 1 and most of my knowledge about halo comes from Halo 1, internet, and wikipedia lol

I used to think Halo was one of those lame space opera type game but the storyline is very interesting and worth learning about

but the thing about the books is that they dont follow the games and likewise
the games dont follow the books.

either way when halo 3 starts the covenant have taken control of earth, destroyed
almost every major city and have complet control...only thing in their way
is the small force of human fighters with the master chief and their make
shift allies the Arbiter and his elites and some hunters.

well, the books arnt all set in the same time as the games but the ones that are do follow the plot in the games. The people who wrote them worked with bungie so its all official stuff. There are a few things that changed in the books though. Like in halo 1, on the pillar of autumn, captain keyes dosnt have a chair, he just stands around. In the book he has a big chair, and the layout of the ship is slightly different. Other than little things like that it does follow.

edit: damnit, youve got me started, going into halo geek mode, must leave forums for an hour or so to get my mind off of it.

lol...yea its all because of RvB isnt it....or maybe because its actually a good
game that deserves the hype that it has...i mean have you ever played
any of the halo games all the way through? if so then you would know that
its one of the few FPS games out there that you can truely call brilliant
Goldeneye, half life, farcry, CoD and the halo trillogy.
oh and halo 3 is expected to make 200 million in the first day alone....of
course a game where players pay over a certain time will make more
money but halo3 is going to have an opening most movies dream of..

and my information comes from Microsoft, Bungie announcements and
predictions form leading game analyst.

Umm you forgot UT,Doom,System shock/Bioshock.
But if I were to buy anygame this year it would be Orange box, or UT2007.

I never though halo was that good. Albeit I'm a RTS gamer first and RPG and FPS later, but I stick to the comp. shooters that I believe is better than Halo. Especially the community, where 90% of the games don't have racist slangs.

sorry your right... about Doom and UT...but System shock and Bioshock
just dont seem to have the same impact as the truely great games.
