Who was (In your opinion) the greatest military leader.
Personally I believe Hilter was the greatest ever born.
This is not because of the genocide, so do not drag racism into this.
Hitler built an amazing empire in almost no time at all, no to mention he pulled the empire up from a crippled nation post WWI.
Rules
*No racism *No flaming *Give you reason for your favorite leader, I don't want people just saying stuff to say it *As always don't be a bigot!

Alexander the Great.
Hitler.
Napoleon.
Actually, I'm not too sure how much Napoleon conquered, but I think Hitler was better... I think.

Napoleon was one I forgot about. But as you said if your talking of achievements, yes Hitler did do more, and more effectively.

Hitler was the greatest military leader, end of story.
Great communication with the people, captivating speeches, in fact he makes bush look like complete shit in that aspect.
go watch Hitler speeches, i actually used to do that before lacrosse games sometimes, they were audio files in my iPod. So much energy, it just really got you pumped.
Pink Floyd even admired him, go watch the wall, 90% about hitlers leadership.

o jeez, hold on, I think it was Mao. He was like hitler at the time, but his strategy's =
lol.
He would get two army's to fight each other, when the fighting was done, he would come in and tak the left over people who were still able to fight, and put them in his army. Sadly, I only read/heard a few things about him.

By nation:
Korea
General Gwanggaeto the Great, Goguryeo-China Wars
Admiral Lee Sun Shin, Imjin Wars (with Japan)
General Gwun Yul, Imjin Wars
General Yungaesomun, Goguryeo-China Wars
General Wang Gun, Three Kingdoms Wars (within Korea)
General Kang Kam Chan, Goryeo-China Wars
General Ulji Munduk, Goguryeo-China Wars
General Paik Sun Yup, Korean War
General Jumong, Goguryeo-China Wars
*General Go Sun Ji
As you might know, Korean territory is limited to the small Korean Peninsula. Excluding Gwanggaeto the Great, all these brilliant men were given the honor to defend, not conquer, the peninsula and the people over a 5000 year period of devestation from invading armies from China and Japan. Gwanggaeto the Great was the only leader to actually lead armies deep into Manchuria and China and greatly expand Korean territory for about 700 years. General Wang Gun unified the peninsula for the first time in Korean history.
*Served in the Chinese military, but an ethnic Korean. Bashed up enemies of China to the west and basically helped China survive invasions from outlying kingdoms.
Japan
General Yamamoto
General Toyotomi Hideyoshi
Germany
Feldmarshal Kesselring
General Rommel
America
General Patton
General George Washington
Alexander the Great
Caesar
Napolean

Hitler was not a general. He was a leader. He didnt lead armies. Neither did Mao, neither did Stalin. Theres a difference in that.
Bush is the leader of the USA. That doesnt mean he is directing the war in Iraq. Petraeus is.

YEAH. THEY DIDNT. Hitler, Stalin, Bush are the LEADERS of theyre respected nations. They gave the ORDER to invade. The ORDER to kill. Yes, all three obviously influence military decisions-tweak this here, cancel that there. But they didnt actually DO the fighting. GENERALS, like Rommel for Hitler, did the actual leading of armed forces to fight the allies.
lol why the hell did someone mention Mao? he wasnt even a great leader-@sskicked by Chiang and kicked again by the Japanese.

Caesar, his empire actually LASTED! Golden age after his rein lasted hundreds of years. (We'll ignore the infamous emperors after that as it wasn't related to him at all) He didn't conquer the most but he was the most strategic. He achieved most things with military stategy. When he was sacked, he didn't resort to propaganda to get elected or need anything else but the people loyal to him and marched his legion to battle. He extended his empire in all directions and he was in complete control of the largest empire/country/nation in earth's entire history and it withstood the test of time better than anyother.
