Westrice's akali ... wow ...

I really think I need to learn how to smartcast, using 4 skills at once is just not possible with default and that is the action that I see matter with akali.

Definitely do it, smart casting is the best thing you will ever learn. (until you over use it then you have to learn when not to use it) It's 100% essential for some champs (i.e. any blinker getting chain stunned should be spamming their blink on smart cast in case chain stunners mess up for half a sec), akali's double q proc (if you throw q as akali and leave the mark there until your q is off cool down, throw a second q then smart cast r onto the person, you'll hit them and proc q before your second q hits them, then your second q hits them and you auto them again for a second q proc. Necessary for all akali players cause it's a shit load of burst) and irelia double/triple jumps (when someone's out of range near creep waves smart cast q through a bunch of near death creeps to get closer) and loads of other stuff.

Oh, if you're spamming smart case you can't move! So you'll have to smart cast, let go of shift, right click to move, smart cast repeat when you're chasing unless you rebind all your keys. It's very important to do when chasing cause if you get too caught up spamming your smart cast skills you'll stand there attacking creeps like an idiot.

Is Smart Cast like that mod in HoN where you can simply drag your mouse towards a direction and the hero/champion will use his spell that way?

That be useful.

No, it casts to your mouse without you clicking. e.g. if I'm corki and want to valkyrie, normal cast means I hit 'w' then click where I want to go, if I'm smart casting then I hit 'w' and it immediately casts as if I clicked exactly where my mouse cursor is.

Basically, it makes every spell like Flash.

Do you know if you can toggle smartcast ingame ? would be super practical as apposed to having to hardbind the key.

There's no toggle for it, either hard rebind or hold shift and smart cast.

You can rebind to other letters if you want, dunno how that will work. I have f1 as the key that removes names in games, so much easier to last hit when xXxCuTeAnGeLxXx isn't blocking creep health. Most of the symbol buttons aren't used, so you can probably move functions you rarely use (like character screen) to a symbol and then have 'c' as a smart cast for something. Honestly it's better than shift since it's easier to spam-chase with smart cast.

you can do all of that without smart casting

not if you have a fair a mount of latency, it's 100% impossible to do the first two since latency will override your response times. Smart cast is just faster, if you're chasing and they're slowly running outside your stun range, smart cast will always be better. The exception is aoe spells, but we're not talking about those.

you don't smart cast 'r' as irelia? Have you seriously tried using it in a couple of games? If not then try it out: rebind all your keys (including summoners) to smart cast for a game or two, you might really like it. (I find it indispensable even when I'm playing on a fast machine, especially for chasing and spamming my single target stun) The extra speed has meant the difference a lot of times.

CLG kicked out by Fnatic.
No chance for them anymore, 2/16 at 30 minutes.

I hate that the games are played so early. Missed all the early games and I only saw the last 2mins of the TSM game.

Edit: Westrice dcing for 4mins cost them the game. Missed a potential triple kill, got 2 levels and nearly 100 cs behind ashe. At the end alistar was 4 level highers and able to kill a Vayne solo.

Riot should have remade. Definitely unprofessional.

Riot needs a pause feature.

Yea. There were a lot of DCs throughout the tournament, not just today.

I'm not going to say EG would have won the first game if Westrice wouldn't have DC'd but it definitely wouldn't been as one sided. We could have probably had an epic game like the second game.

I'm just not sure how you DC at a LAN event. Faulty Alienware hardware maybe? Even with the disconnects, Riot could have handled the situation much better.

Regardless, I was generally impressed with Doublelift's Blitz play and Shushei's Alistar. Instead of waiting for things to happen, they made plays happen and turned unfavorable situations into favorable situations.

I'm sure an Alistar nerf is in the near future.

edit: There were 2 referees stationed behind each team. The referees monitoring Epik Gamer acted to move westrice to an alternate PC where he reconnected. The alternate rule was not applied and marked is marked as alternate for several reasons:

During the incident there was a quick discussion and decision to not utilize the rule b/c it had been previously scrutinize by players and admins since it:

--Can be difficult to enforce players to stay in an exact area and subsequently punish them if they don't fully comply. (Would need one admin on each player at the very least)
--Affects strategies that utilize roaming junglers or gankers.
--Affects lineup that oriented towards early game pushes and ganks

The rule was included to give the referee some additional utility in the event of disconnect, but hasn't proved to be generally accepted by players. I will likely be removed for Season Two, but I will be soliciting feedback from the competitors themselves.

Thats true, I might like it but irelia is the champ i have the most experience with and i find that i don't really need smartcasting

Doesn't Irelia's ult auto-smart cast? I never have to click after hitting R.

You play the EU version? I heard they've been having server issues lately.

EU servers tend to have some issues and all people do is whine on the forums and reguest free RP for their 'suffering', ffs this is a free game...

But I'd think that servers will be lil bit better after all this Dreamhack thing is going to end.
