I read all the guides/discussions on Sivir/Taric/Kayle. They basically play the same way with slight variations, I'll be trying something new with Taric tomorrow.

ok guys let me start giving you some tips to be "ftw" on LoL. Note that i will be slowly adding to this as i see fit and this is for srf use exclusively couse i actually believe people will pwn with this info ( specially with my caster build and i dont want that to happen ).
so first let me talk about team balance and note that atm i am just trying to put the info down, if you are looking for some "guide" type of format you are jol.
so having a well balanced team is very important and i wont get into detail as to why this is so but keeping it short you want something that resembles this:
tank ( ex. rammus, mundo ) tank hybrid ( nasus ) melee carry ( jax, yi ) ranged carry ( ashe, twitch ) caster ( annie, annie )
so if you find yourself in a team lacking one of those keys roles make sure you step in and pretty much "take one for the team".
so moving on ill present to you my infamous caster build ( and remember this is to be used in srf exclusively ). one last thing i want to mention about this build is that it works pretty much on any caster so if you decide to play one you can have the peace of mind of focusing on the actual gameplay ( and as you improve you can move on to "not as good preferences" ), so here it is:
Sapphire Crystal move on to boots ( you usually want the ap ones ) Catalyst the Protector ( finish this with the crystal you already possess, this item is the difference between an ok and an excellent player, while at it ill mention that the reason why you grab crystal first is to harass your opponents and protect your early game farm. most people will try to stay in lane for as long as possible but this is not you, you will target usually one person in the lane with low hp/defense and keep firing at them at any chance you get and when you oom you will go back to the fountain without hesitation and come back for the kill with hopefully your ult or a gank from your jungle melee carry or mid . Mejai's Soulstealer ( words dont describe the value and difference this item makes, you simply dont question this ) Rylai's Scepter ( this will be the first real item you will be purchasing and for the most part you want it to be scepter but then there are a few champions like ryze that benefit from Lich Bane, specially with him you want to swap for that as it will allow you to 1 shot people and do some serious dmg. lich is also a good swap for kass but he also gets the job done with scepter so on him you sorta have to be more aware of your circumstances in the game. Zhonya's Ring ( this is the item i often dont complete but is full of win at this point in the game and the reason behind that is because it accomplishes something most casters fail horrible at "late game" and that is scaling. if you have this you are the one to watch out for, specially by the enemy melee/ranged carry who is essentially wiping the floor with your team, so in effect you become a higher being than the infamous "carry" ) finish Rod of Ages ( after you complete zhonya you are godly and nothing really matters but why not complete this right ) w/e
think that is all i am writting today, ill try to add some info on how to build melee champions next time but that is going to be a bit more complicated as everything that is not a caster pretty much tends to build around passive skills and whatnot.

So I played my first game, somehow got 16-4...
But the main difference I so far saw from HoN is that LoL requries less csing, and that its not a huge difference for someone to die as in HoN. Also feels harder to die in LoL (maybe thats just me)

What champ were you playing, was it a practice game, and one game won't give you a general idea of how much dieing sucks late-game. It's frustrating when ELO pairs you with players who go afk or are just bad which in turn leads to loss. Was it a solo queue or a premade?

Well afk and ELO has no correlation, but it prevents people from smurfing and it is the most accurate measure of skill. The problem of course is that this is a team game, we need a SRF clan or something. LoL is much more casual than DotA and DotAclone, though there's still a crap load to learn.

ELO wants to give a 50% W/L ratio, in order to do this it evaluates individual skill when putting teams together. Because of this being paired with "bad" players is ELO's way of giving you a 50% W/L ratio, which is why I posted you may have "AFKers" and "leavers." People I see carrying games don't go afk or ragequit.

I was playing Katarina (in my opinion, shes not that great), it was solo queue. Well and im just comparing it to HoN when dieing.. . Not sure if some of my allies were bad because i really dont know the heroes.

Katarina is good if the other team feeds her, which I see happen often. This one game I had a thick-headed new scion whom was set on killing the Kat he was laning against and would have ended up feeding her multiple times had the team not called an early gank. He didn't stun or use his bubble at all, it was mortifying seeing one of my favorite Hybrids get wrecked like that. Especially by Kat's easy to interrupt ult.

oh god i just basically pugged into 2 of those "all carry" teams, thank god the servers were going down.
sucks to have to initiate, tank, cc, and yes you guessed it do most of the dmg so all the braindead pug special childs can push half their keys at the wrong time >.<

so ya i am now apparently ranked high-ish and am playing with a bunch of nonsucky people and got to admit is pretty unforgiven, a build screw up or anything and gg. not sure how to react to that, game suddenly became pretty competitive o.O

It just sucks running into 5 man premades and they're coordinated as hell so you have to keep up with their lane combos and 4 man push + carry free farm in other lane taking down towers. Standing in the wrong place means insta gib and your team loses the team battle cause you're down a man. Farking up your boots or armor doesn't play that big a role unless you're a super item dependent character. Solo queue still sucks though.
