It's easy for human, just try to look it carefully. Or just ask the what words contain a snake or a worm.

Silo, It can still be bypassed.

That's the point. Because they bypass it, they dont send the respond the request, so their connection is cut.

I mean bypass as in that it's possible to still type in what the image is via 3rd party program, not bypass as in not typing a solution.

Captcha code not necessary demand to type what shown in the window. It could be in a question type. Like:
"If i give u 4 oranges, then take from u 2 oranges, then multiply the number of the rest of oranges u have. How many oranges u have in the end?"

Like this, i doubt any captcha regconition can answer it.

Captchas like that have been exploited. And considering this is an international version of sro, a captcha such as that would render useless as there are many people who can not read English.

Only purpose of a captcha is to slow down or discourage cheaters, hackers, and so on. If there is a will, there is a way.

The only real effective Captcha is a segmented captcha. Even these have been exploited.

turks dont speak english :o and most of the sro players either. Theres no unbreakable captcha but if Joymax wanted to really get rid of bots it would have done it by now since there are much more efficient methods.

Joymax is not as stupid as people think. They coudl have fixed everything a long time ago. Too many things have added to the downfall of SRO.

Eh, the best way this would work (imo) would be to have a [!] box appear, then if you click on it you just enter in 4 symbol code. To prevent not noticing it, just have a purple message appear like server inspection, saying "5 minutes left to enter code" then do 3-2-1-30 seconds. Failure to enter DC's them. This wouldn't be 100% effective, but it could give us a few days of bot free sro. The only way I see Sro ever being bot free is to combine the servers to like 5-10, and just have 5 GM's on each server once a week for like 2 hours, running around rock mtn and giving people purple messages and PM's. Obviously, this won't get all the bots, but I'm sure a lot of them would stop if they see the player bots get banned.

its a never ending race really:

bot gets smarter --> GM use new method --> bots gets smarter again --->GM use new method again


unless JM have active GMs that ban people on the spot, bots will always be a problem, because there're always ways to go around automated systems.

edit: and since JM have so much money anyways, I don't see y they can't hire like 5 people just to ban bots all day manually, cheap bastards!

edit2: oh wait, bots help JM make money so they'll never get rid of them

better if the icon can only be " clicked " on, other than that it's a good idea ^_^.

The hard part is resolving the image code, not clicking... Even Autoit could do that easily

+1, with visual c++ and windows netframework packages you can send the image to a certain program in the background.
The program will then type the imagecode and send it to SRO.

Works with any other image verification

Also, WoKF has that to, and they have active GM's. but maybe to active...with they're GM stats and weapons.

bot takes awhile to insert image verification cuz it takes awhile to process the image in ocr
