I don't think is illegal at all. The bad that about the modified client is that you have to wait about 7 seconds to press connect again and retype th verification code. If you do press it early, nothing will show up and the only thing that you could do is just press exit and start up Sro again.
Using this program would save you a lot of time logging in.
Seem to me that it is similar to pk2 editing.
