u, sir, are misinformed. the mods do not ban indiscriminately. accusers have to provide sufficient evidence, then the mods will look it over, and then they will ban.
it doesn't matter what they do irl, they bot, srf finds out, srf bans. get used to it.

Ty Code: Ultimately, it comes down to this whole thing being useless talking. I could argue my points till I am blue in the face, but really, where would it go? Someone who disagrees can say that I bot, and boom, I'm banned, right? How can anyone but the player truly know if someone else is botting without sitting at the computer and watching? I know when I was grinding, I noticed I moved in a similar fashion to bots, and was called a bot several times. I kinda laughed it off and continued with what I was doing. This new forum is nothing more then a flame forum set up to pit one person's word against another, with mods (who really can't prove that the target has botted or not), banning indiscriminately.

once people figure out that this thing thats being done is like goose chase everything will be fine. The forum turned into what everyone with conscious mind said it will be , a bitching - spamming - middle age inquisition type bunch of junk .

I dont agree.
I do think it's the right thing to do, for the reasons explained throughly on many posts already, of many topics.
It's not a "red scare", it's the return of a benefitial Taboo, to reject botting/botters.
Not all assassins are bad guys either, you could say. Many of them have a life, wife, children. So that makes them less worse?
Or using a less strong comparison, we could say the same about thieves, abusers, and many sorts of fraudulent/criminal people. However, they are rejected by community, once they are found. The question here isnt how cool botters are, but that they should be punished by what they did. If not on SRO, at least here.
Point proven.

The Iconoclast wrote: There's a nice article on fortuitous that changed the way I thought about this stuff. Nice article. I think the last paragraph on rules vs guidelines hits very close to home. I have seen a lot of posts arguing the "letter of the law" around here. The Mods should not have to bullet at everything single thing you Can't say or do, if they say there is a War on bots on, everyone should know that mean zero tolerance and quit arguing about it. I have stated before that I don't necessarily agree with the policy, but I want to participate in this forum so I just deal with it. Can we all just move on? I just want a friendly forum back.

it doesn't matter what they do irl, they bot, srf finds out, srf bans. get used to it. Define sufficient evidence. there is no strict definition. how could there be? strong enough to convince the mod team. check through the threads of some people who have been banned. you'll see what sufficient is.
