Back when I first started, I saw a stack of silk trade items on the ground. I kept trying to pick it up and wondered why I couldn't. I thought they were really good items or something. I thought, since they were named silk, that you could pick them up and buy items from the item mall with them. A higher level player kept coming up to the stack and asking me what's up. I had no idea they were trade goods

Many similar topics have already opened, but still make me laugh when found one like this. First of all, I've never played any other MMO/PC game before SRO, exception some funny crap on my sister's C64 in 1990-92, so I did not have the faintest idea about games. Luckily a friend played on Troy, he told me many useful advices in connection with stat points and skills. My stories, * did not know skill window can be scrolled-down * my biggest inspiration was to learn the skill what the zombie girl uses and the other what floating a brightning textile/silk over characters' shoulders * once I met a guy who pwned hunters and traders at devil bug area, he gave me his loot and stated to teach how to robe and sneak away, few minutes later he asked "Hey, how much time left on scroll?" I was suprised and said "Sorry, what are you talking about?" * I never used teleport scroll and horse untill Lv.30, thought they are too expensive, better if I travel on foot (it was great in armor, w/o grass walk) and many others I can't remember now... Thanks for topic Bg_Dream

When I was lvl 10 or so (after ages of grinding because I didn't know anything about skills, so I grinded with a 9 lvl gap xD) I was invited in a party with a lvl 17 guy. I thought he was a god. :o
And I was always scared for orange mobs, Because in those days the levels of the mobs were not mentioned so I always ran 100 meter away when I saw one. xD

1. Lvled all masteries to see the atacks 2. Only used normal atacks+imbues because I didn't want to spend too much gold on MP pots 3. I tried speaking with city spammers and gold bots 4. I refused to stall so my gold never went higher than 90k 5. I usually had all the job suits on my inventory in case I found loots, one day I found a bunch of trade loots at jangan, I grabbed them all with the lvl 20 horse and then went right INTO THE FREAKING MAIN DOOR trying to enter the city... I obviously got raped by a high lvl hunter

A lot of guys probably did this too; When I had my first char I lvl'ed up about to lvl 12 before I started thinking about how to get skills. I thought I was lucky when I met a guy who invited me to his noob guild. He told me how to get skills......this is what he said press U and go to guild....you will see a little heart..press on it and hit ok... Great!! all my sp (about 500) was changed into GP :S He said thanks and kicked me out of the guild. When I was around lvl 15 with that char I still had only lvl 7~8 skills. So i started a new char and became pro

I reached lvl 10 without any imbu or weapon skill. I started shooting the mobs with a bow, and when they get close, i switched to a sword ... I didnt know where to buy arrows so i bought them from the stalls . It took me some time to realise that i can scroll down in the skill menu ... I sold my first weapon elix at the NPC because i thought 20k is a fking good price. I thought the thiefs must kill every player by pressing the alt button ... than i wondered why was my name became red. At my first guild trade, one of my guildmates had to came back for me at the ferry because i havent got 500 gold with me to use the ferry. I thought that my crit 11 bow dropped from an earth ghost has a very bad crit... I was a very big noob

I'll put them in order.
Put points to int while playing glaive.
Did not know about skills till lvl 12-15.
When I did figure out I could have skills I put sp into ALL of them thinking I would be awesome.
Did not realize I could scroll down in the skill menu till lvl 20-25.
All of the above eventually led to the demise of my first character.

Back when I was a noob, I thought that since when people traded, they had items that were "red silk" and "white silk", I thought that they actually were giving players "Silk", which was used to buy premium items, and that's what I thought the names where after the "red silk" and "White silk", and I thought it must suck when someone jacks their trade, because they just lost their real life money.
I used to think NPC thiefs were real thiefs, and I wanted to be a thief because they were always so powerful and would kill me so quickly when I was a low level, so I would ask people "How do thiefs appear after trades? How do you find trades?" And I thought that there was some sort of special teleporter that teleported you behind a trade, and you could rob it.
I was so proud when one time, I was hit by a thief, but I didn't die in one hit! Sadly, I died when it hit me the second time.
I didn't know you could buy potions, so I would never use potions, and would only sit down to regain hitpoints and mana until level 21. I would only use potions while fighting giants. I used to sit down until my mana and hitpoints were fully charged before I would then use zerk. I used to grind normally using a bow, but I would only use arrow combo and cold imbue, I didn't use antidevil because I thoguht it took too long to launch. But when I went into zerk, I would change to sword and shield and use fire imbue.
I used to wear capes all the time while I grinded, and I would hate it when high level players would come and kill me. After I became level 20, I would grind in a hunter suit to throw off suspicion that I was actually a thief, but then player thiefs would always come and kill me, lol.
One time someone asked me "What level are you", while I was grinding in a hunter suit, I was lv 20 and I lied and said I was level 26. Then the guy changed into a thief suit, and zerked, but I still managed to kill him, lol.
I didn't use autopots until like level 35 or something.
I'm sure there are way more.
I also thought that Tiger girl and all the other uniques were just really strong players who logged into the game sometimes, and I thought it sucked because they were always killed, and I was scared to get to a high level because then it would announce when I logged into the game and tell everyone where I was, then people would try and kill me.

I don't know if this was for every server but I remember while grinding in tiger mountain if a giant tiger appeared ever player in the immediate area would run over to it. As if this action of rarity required the participation of so many people. It was quite the spectacle to see so many noobs in zerk on one tiger giant *Take in note this was back in the old days when the majority of players were legit and many were low lvl.

Oh yeah, I also didn't know about skills until level 7, when a nice person explained me step by step on how to use them. Before that, I would add the skills, but I thought they were applied automatically I also, would make every character a 1:1 armor sword user and when I got to level 8 I'd restart. I also grinding by going south for mangyangs, then further south for ghosts, then further south for the poison ghost guys in the river, then further south to fight weasels, lol.
