--this story Might interest the old players of Babel, and Athens. Most notably members of HEO, orignal NW.
It all started 3years ago. I was at work, and while walking down the flight of stairs, my co-worker brought up SRO. He said it was a wonderfull game, and best of all, free 2 play. At first I thought nothing of it, a few days latter, while trying to kill time on the internet, I browsed SRO.
To my surprise, it was far better then I expected. My first character was on Babel. I had no clue what I was doing, so while playing for 3 weeks I finaly got to level 21, only to realize the character is a total disaster. Bow, Glavie, fire light, ice... every skill available, I got.
Realising the character was a total failure I re-rolled. I kept playing activly, and joined a guild called No_3scape. Here I became good friend with the members. Most notably Fanco. He was a nice guy and always willing to help me. At one point he gave me his old 5x glavier "Lord of Egypt a.k.a LoE" I played that for a few weeks and went back to my own character to experience some things for myself.
I was helpfull to all others, just like Fanco was to me. I met some crazy and some nice people. One of those is Crnivatreni. One day, Crni's guild decited to do a trade run, and asked me to help guide his trade. So I agreed. We headed out of east jangan, through the hills and into the tomb's. Here, my guild members waited for them, and I changed suits and thiefed Crni. In essence i "betrayed" them and they never spoke to me again. From here on out everything went down hill.
I somewhat stoped playing sro for a while, and focused on SRo's loopholes. My first "victim" was XBlade_Chris. No_3scape guild leader. I managed to access the SRO database, and get ahold of some information. As my guinnie pig, I hacked him. Then I went down the list of guild members. Im not quite sure why, but it might have been in spite. Any ways, throughout all of this I retained one friend.
Fanco, always advised me not to hack or cheat. But I always ignored his advice. My next "victim" was, well I cant remember his exact IGN, Hu*** something, rather unimportant now. For the next little while, I would play as a "legit" on my other character, all the while hacking others peoples chars for gold/items. I never saw the point in playing stolen accounts. As they were just names, names without a soul.
I built up my accounts, and was quite active. I even remember huntin LY with half the server. It was a great time. When Botters/Legits all co-existed and fought and battled in immense wars. It was a time when the LY Arena would be full with players. Players who were there to have fun and kick some LY ass.
I joined HEO, and became quite active there. Botting 24/7. Running 4accounts at any given time. I had a lot of gold, lots of sun, but I never bragged about it. It was more for myself, not for the world. I slowly began to get into CCF aswell. I had access to plenty accunts, I might aswell have made use of them. Through my time in HEO I met Itachi13579. He had access to one of my accounts and used it to CCF his sosun bow and some gear. When Kida(HEO leader) was made aware that a union member CCF'd my account, kida got furious. Thus the HEO union fell apart when Kida disbanded it. "The straw broke the Camels back"
Slowly after that HEo started to die out, in a few short months the guildchat became empty. and we all slowly went our seperate ways. I still played, but not as activly. My last days on babel are full of regret. I backstabbed one of the people who were there with me from the start. I hacked some characters which belonged to Fanco, and inevitably destroyed my friendhsip with him too.
I took a short break, and then returned to iSro, Greece server. here I met D2A. I was still low level. He gave me a 80 FF account, SexyLexi. I never quite understood why. I guess I made the right impression? I played there for a while until SexyLexy got banned. I went on to hack a character as I was too lazy to even bot a character. I then played Yusuke, an archer. I never got into any big guilds/unions as I choose not to be as active. In my time on greece I had acquired a few accounts. and when I quit greece, I gave them away.
I took a short break once more, and then again returned to iSro. This time on Athens. I created a Euro character, and botted it all the while farming gold 24/7. So many htings happened so quickly. But to sum it all up. I ended up in NetWarriors, played along side Eldeeb, bplz, Tweeex, and some other people I will never forget. One thing I loved about Athens, was that there was always tension.
I hacked some people here and there, but i decited to do nothing major. As I saw it was more fun to have an opponent, then no oponent. After all, what is a guild war if there is no guild to war?
I played many accounts on Athens, from Passions, Dezerter, FengShu_ITA, _5M0K3_ and so on... While in NW i grew tired of the outsiders, the global spam, the bickering and the jelousy. With that I devised a plan. Joymax had fixed its database by this itme, and I could no longer hack the normal way I used to. So I targeted private forums. I focused on FengShu_ITA. He had a sosun garment set, and a sosun +6 glavie, and sox accesories. And from what I recall close to 2bill in gold. Once I got Feng, I continued onto his union. However I had to stop as some people in the 0*x*33 community were not so fond of what I was doing.
once again, the game grew dull and boring. I slowly decreased my time on iSro. In the mean while, NW started to die out, less and less players played. By the time I became active again. NW got stolen and P_D got into power of it. So I decited to re-start from scratch. I managed to acquire a 6x wizard, to pfarm my own character.
However what I did not expect was meeting somebody who reminded me of myself. He was also just starting to farm. So I decited to farm myself, him and his friend. Each day, we would talk, share ideas and insights. We picked up hitchikers along the way and created uBot on athens. some mebers of the old NW joined us *Praise Cu_Do*. We got full farmed, and started our jurney to the cap. I gained trust of certain people, and they gave me a 90 ff character to pfarm my own character and my friends.
Day after day, I would bot 24/7. Each day having to change spots because we were leveling too fast. We got to the late 60's. Almost level 70. We took a break and went to PvP. I was arogue/Warlock, and I could take out most 70's. I never told people who I was. So the lack of repsect the people gave me was a surprise. especialy since I was good friends with those people. It made me realise, SRo is all about status. Its not who has the best gear, or the most gold. but about who does what.
It doesnt matter if you bot or not. what this game is about, is your representation.
Moving on.. So my friend, got bored and decided to sell his account. So I jumped on the bandwagon and sold mine too. My account got chargedback and I lost some money. But all in all, not a total failure. After this, I quit for a few months. 4 months to be exact.
Throughout my time on iSro, I have been on over 100capped accounts, played as an image, and as a shadow of who those accounts were.
Now Im back in iSro. Playing on Poseidon with the same friends. and enjoying every minute of it.
I dont regret botting on Athens, I dont regret Cheating, hacking or anything I have done. I have no remorse whatsoever. I think everybody has their game play style. And everybody does what they need to do to enjoy the game. I did what I did, and I may or may not do it again, time will only tell.
I just want to say thank you to my old long time friends on Athens/Babel. Also Id like to say sorry to all old Babelonian players for running so many gold bots all those years ago.
