Intro for the nubz =) Instead of gold as the currency in silkroad, up until level 70 your currency becomes tokens. there are 3 kind of tokens, Monk Soldier and General. Monk being the lowest and General being the highest.
So how do you get them? You can obtain them from killing mobs, a relatively high drop rate of maybe 20-30% each mob are likely to drop one of these tokens but you also get tokens as a reward for completing quests, rewards range from 4 tokens to 20 tokens each quest.
What can you get for the tokens? For the tokens you can get SoX gear which is the main reason people want these tokens. You can also get recovery grains, return scrolls, horses, invis potions, lucky powders, void rondo/destroyer rondo, weapon slot stones, pet pills, job suits and destroyer stones.
As a tip, it costs 1 token to get a job suit, use a monk token as its obviously worth the least.
You can also convert tokens 1 General = 3 Soldier and 1 Soldier = 3 Monk tokens.
1 General = 9 Monk tokens
so ive been doing some number crunching and ive come up with these results
for full SOSUN 8D
Gear = 1802 Accessories = 1195 Weapon with shield = 1037 Weapon without shield = 741
so total with shield = 4034 without shield = 3738
My question to the rest of you 65+ people on Sro-R...
is getting 4034 tokens Feasible? Should i be attempting to get this amount?
MORE NUMBERS!
if you just get a sosun weapon (if you need a shield but you stick with a sos shield) and want full sosun gear at 8D you need
466 more General tokens
without a shield?
540 more General tokens
(im not including 1-5d weapons as they use soldier tokens)
so... in FINAL
with shield = 4500 without shield = 4278
Final Final Final point XD (i didnt think this post would end up being so long sorry)
Is it ok to expect 4500 tokens before level 69 (when you get your last D8 piece)?

I would say go for getting 8D weapon from forgotten world, would cost way less time.
Well 4.5k tokens seems very hardcore.
I got a bit puzzled in your calculations, did you mean you got to collect 4.5k monk tokens or 4.5k general tokens?

LOL after all my calcs you couldnt be bothered to check yourself if it was monk or general tokens?!?!?! im offended xD yes General tokens thats why i said i didnt include 1-5D because they didnt use general tokens. the amount seems very high but in retrospect its not too high if you save them up and also you can go back and do quests in euro zones?

Well, i'd say it depends a lot on how you play. If you solo mainly and do all the quests, while you are at it, then you'll easily get that ammount of tokens. With european characters you usually want to level in pts though and in pts mainly the tanks will get the tokens, as they are closer to the monsters. Wizards and bards get significantly less tokens during share pts. That's the reason, why i do a lot quests also, when i have no pt. I'd suggest to quest at least on green monsters, since blue ones won't drop you any tokens during the grinding and only the tokens from the quest are not worth it. I am Lv.61 wiz/cleric now and i took a sun staff for 6D and 7D, i already have my 8D sun staff from FGW. Currently i have 1516 general tokens, which is almost enough for a complete 8D sun set (without acc's) already, as shown above. I am quite sure i can also get enough tokens for the (almost) complete acc set until lv.69, since i can still do lots of quests. 8D sun shield is not really needed for me, as i don't really play as cleric, for the same reason i won't need an 8D sun cleric rod (also a sos cleric rod would be good enough anyway). At the moment i am doing my first yeti quests and starting at lv.60 you'll have quite a lot quests (both in takla and in dw cave). You can do most of them 4 times and some of them 3 times. Each quest gives you 10 general tokens, so it should be absolutely no problem to get the required tokens, if you do these quests, while the monsters are still green for you. penfold1992 wrote: The Invisible wrote: I would say go for getting 8D weapon from forgotten world, would cost way less time.

It's possible, but not worth it. The monsters will be blue for you, which means you won't get any tokens during the quest. And the tokens from the quest reward alone are not worth doing these quests, so don't bother with it.

I actually read the calculations but wasn't concentrating that much to notice ._. Anyway just get a sun weapon from forgotten world and get gear with tokens, but getting both "clothes" and accessories won't be easy, just go for sun clothes and sos accessories. Maybe get sos gloves or shoes and use the tokens you were going to use to get those to get a sun necklace, a necklace would be more useful than them.

Lol when I was playing on my wiz (under lvl 18) one shotting mobs around my lvl and I was barely getting one coin per 20mobs if not less. Guess it drops more in shared parties or something.

Guess it drops more in shared parties or something. Actually drops more as you lvl up. I have a full sun set(got the weapon from fgw) and I still have to spare. So yes, it is doable.

No one buys 64 sun weap with token. You can get them easily by fgw quest or can buy them for 2m-3m. So that saves you like 700 general token. I have full sun set and sun necklace and spent alot of tokens on speedpotions and still have about 200 left. if you want you can have full sun set with tokens.

You actually can get tokens after level 70. When you kill monsters that are level 70 or lower, AND are within 7 levels below your level, they will drop tokens for you. I.e. if you're level 75 and killing Nachals or Yachas (lvl 69-70), you'll get tokens.

Go to the Npc which has the valuables, look for a coin there.
Samarkand / Downhang to convert Monk tokens to Silver tokens, Hotan to convert Silver tokens to general.
