So what if Joymax publicly announce that all players are now allowed to bot using a bot program they created....Would you:

a) Quit
b) Join in
c) Continue playing as a legit

Personally I would be leaning more towards quitting because of the fact that I've been jerked around by Joymax for over 4 years and would be more pissed at them than I am now....If they did this when I first started I'd be inclined to join in since I loved the game so much.

Trap question, answering with "Join in" means that you have illegal intentions deep inside you, which is enough to get you banned *trollz*

Botting is already publicly allowed...

Example: when we reported a bot on Sro-R to a GM that was standing 2 feet away and all he said was that the botter needed to "log off immediately".

Joymax publicly showed that they don't care but they haven't publicly announced that its OK to bot. They in fact still hold that it is NOT ok to do so..

The question isn't trapped because its hypothetical...It also creates a situation where Joymax gives you consent to bot....Selecting "join in" isn't proof that you are a botter currently. I doubt you'd get banned based on your presumed intentions under this what if situation...You wouldn't be breaking any rules to say that you would bot IF joymax changes the rule to say you now can.

GMs?....You think GMs are the ones you shouldn't have faith in?...Wow....How about realizing that GMs are given a job to do and if banning bots isn't on that list of things they cant do anything about it....

Have some stories from the 70cap when they actually banned botters

Some guy waiting for Isy and there was a gold bot. Ask him to ban him and says "he no bot"

Some guy botting in the cave named potato GM says he has reports of people calling him a botter. Says sorry that he was mistaken and Potato says something like "keep up up the good job.. i guess" and he posts the screenshots with the botclient messages with him there.

Though now I don't think they have the authority to ban on sight. Sad really

Honestly?

Return to the game.

The only thing stopping me from playing is the grind. It's boring and tedious. I would gladly bot if I could do so and not risk getting banned for it, then spend my time doing something more interesting.

EDIT: Actually, that's a lie. Mostly the community was what stopped me playing, and I highly doubt it has changed, so I will keep my distance even if Joymax offered me a red carpet return.

nope, that wasnt a gm it was a test char that was left there. In the 70 cap (and 60 cap) you would see people with the beginner tag quite regularly.

but they wernt gm's

I'm amazed at how you seem to be brainwashed that GMs don't just stand there and do nothing about the bots they see.....How many GMs over the years have you seen in game with people surrounding them and asking them all sorts of questions? Everyone knows (including GMs) that the game if full of bots....So when you see a GM online in town meeting everyone or helping with an event when they could be banning the hundreds of bots running past them in town wouldn't that be proof enough for you??

a gm has [GM] tags and a yellow name.... this GM Potato guy IIRC did have the gm tags but his name was not yellow, this was when people could easily copy a GM. there was a few characters on aege with a noobie symbol yet were just normal players.

and yes unless gms were physically running around banning bots, i probably wouldnt believe them.

The player was named PotatoP or something. Did you not read the story I said? The screenshot had him with his conversation with.. forgive me I don't remember the GMs back in the day saying that he had reports of him of him being a botter. He was botting. He posted the screenshot of him botting with the GM present. It was in the first dw cave bug room.
