Hey, I'm level 22 and I usually grind in a party because it's fun. But I'm not so sure if it's worth it. Killing a party monster gives about the same xp as me killing a normal monster on my own, yet takes a billion times longer.

At what point in leveling does training in a party (as a euro character) because a necessity?

Thanks.

i have noticed that at some point in a party i get lets say 2k exp. and then if someone leaves or go out of range that goes down to 1k. and also with party you can hunt your lvl +2-3 monsters, hunting lower wont give much exp.

so keep party full and try join members that are same lvl, not like 4 lvl 20 and 3 lvl 25 that wont get you much exp.

and for slow killing there are wizards, join 2-3 of tgem in party and you should kill faster.

Yep thats the only problem, people not moving, the only thing that slows it down :P

I went 1~26 in 3 hours with a euro char in a euro party... no powerlvling, thats something you simply cant do with a chinese char in that amount of time...euro definitely lvls faster than chinese.

well if your party is working good (with healing/buffing/tanking etc) you should be able to kill mobs like 5+ lvls higher and that way you get the nice xp

From my experience you need 1 tanker, 1 or 2 healers and the rest can be mages. Crossbow rogues are supposed to pull in the mobs while the tanker taunts them but for some reason most of the rogues keep attacking the mob they pulled lol

Every Party I'm in solely relies on me to heal and mana heal them which is difficult when I am also fighting and needing healing and mana too. It's rare for me to get into a party that already has buffers and is at all organized.

I.... don't... know.... smart... people.... *cries*

This is off my unions boards, topic being Party Mobs vs. Quest Mobs:

NiteGhost wrote:
So, which one is better? Based on my observation in the last few days, I got the answer and the answer is DEPENDS~

It depends whether you are gapping, the level of the mob relative to you and the number of people in your party. Let me put things into perspective so it is easier to comprehend.

Remember one thing, you got the most experience from mob that are 11 levels higher than you. If it is over 11 levels, you will get less.

Ok now for example say you are now level 29.
Sosungsung is level 37.
Sungsung is level 38.
Angry Sungsung Quest mob is level 40.

So, which mob to grind? Depends if you have gap or not and the number of people in your party.

If you have gap 0 to 3. then you should level on Sosungsung or Sungsung party mobs because if you have a full eight people party, you will get about the same (just a bit less than 10%) experience as from Angry Sungsung quest mobs. More importantly, it is a lot easier to kill because Angry Sungsung is roughly about 5 to 7 times harder to kill.

If you have a higher gap, then you would want to level on Angry Sungsung quest mobs. Why? Because quest mob give a FIXED amount of experience regardless of gap! But remember it still depends on your level, as you level up, Angry Sungsung quest mob will give less experience because they are no longer 11 levels above you.

So, as you level up, re-evaluate the correlation between you, the mob that you are grinding, party size and gap to find out which mob and which type of mob (party or quest) will give you the most optimum xp.

It basically work the same for group mobbing. It is the same logic as power levelling.

Hope this will help on picking the right mob to level up fast.

I know it might be a bit irrelevant, but might help you somewhat :)

Well earlier today me and Chromis were grinding the centaurs..it took about maybe ~20 seconds to put down a normal party mob...maybe ~45seconds to put down a party mob champ...all xp gained was split between him and myself...

As for efficiency he'd pull and I'd tank everything...so really as long as you have a decent tank and a damage dealer you can go through mobs very quickly...

Well I joined a new guild, mostly europe characters, and were always in a party, some times I cant get in :( However, when we get rolling, I can probably lvl up in 40 minutes, just fooling around lol. Lately I get about .6-.8 for each party kill hahah. Now maybe thats because im lvl 28, and were attacking ongs and stuff? But if you have a good party, it is possible to attack stuff higher than your lvl. Also I think that for a party to be good

You need : Rogue
Rogue
Warrior
Cleric
Cleric
Wizard
Wizard
Rogue

lol I know your asking when its best, and I say now, where your at. Lvl 16 was a good time to start also. Also, what type of gap are you running? And your fighting?

One thing that should always be said about quest monsters is that they give NO items and NO cash, nothing but exp.

Yeah, in my experience the best party is me (wizard) and a cleric. That's all.

I kill everything, and he just heals me. That works out perfectly.

And on normal mobs, he can solo stuff to, the healing only matters for giants and party mobs.

+1 exept i was in a party FULL of wizards with subclasses of warlocks and buffs, i was rouge with daggers so i didnt even get to touch the party mobs lol exept i still got the exp :)
wizards/clerics are good build but only as party not for solo really.

but i still leveled twice in an hour because they looked out for eachother and we had about 2 deaths in the whole time. 8)

Wizards are great for solol, what are you talking about?

Bards, clerics, warlocks, and warriors need parties.

my party guide

1]at least 2 tanks
2]3 nukers or less, more is excess, if you cant find a nuker xbow rogue works well
3]1-2 clerics
4]at least 1 bard
5]party members should be the same lvl of the pt leader or within 4 lvls of the party leader
6]DONT move around, pick a place with a high spawn rate and stay there

now

A]grind on mobs 9-11 lvls above the average party lvl
B] have nuker/s, and healers mp/hp stand in 1 place; while tanks stand ahead of the main dmg/healing group
i]nuker/s should be infront of mp/hp healers
ii] tank/s should be further out, close enough to be healed, but not close enough for healers to agro mobs

tanks job: tanks MUST use taunt 2 lure mobs NVR charge or walk towards a mob.
i]make the mob come to you
ii]nvr leave the tanking area
iii]if a mob heads for healers/nukers, it should be decided ahead of time which tank will taunt those mobs
iv]keeping mobs distracted is top priority
v]always have backup NPC gear, just in case your gear gets dmged
vi]only use kb to protect healers/nukers!! YOU DONT WANT THE PARTY 2 MOVE!!!

nukers/xbows job:
i]dmg the mobs, you deal the most dmg. atk the mobs the tanks are tanking ONLY. your NOT allowed to atk any other mobs
ii]DONT LURE ANY MOBS!!
iii]stand within healing range of tanks, you DONT belong on the frontlines
iv]DONT MOVE!!
v]always have backup NPC gear, just in case your gear gets dmged
vi] if tank/s kb mobs out of atking range dont atk the mobs let the tank/s

healers job:
i]keep the party alive/full of mana DONT FIGHT!!
ii]if some1 goes out of range let them die/run out of mana
iii]if some1 is rude let them die/run out of mana
iv]dont leave the party area to res or heal some1
v]stay put dont move
vi] if tank/s kb mobs until thier out of healing range dont move let them die

overall:
if you do this your party will lvl VERY fast, and rarely die

PS. good luck getting the majority of isro players too actually follow these rules

+1 +2 +3 +4 +5 +6 THANK YOU.

I hate joining a party with a cleric who fights and does not res or heal under any circumstances. I just want to PK them! After my second experience like that, I turned my wizzy into a wiz/cleric and and started healing and resing everyone except the so-called "cleric". Now I feel like making cleric my primary just to run the parties and teach people how it's supposed to go.

I need to copy a version of this info into a macro so I can spam it to my party or to people who don't want to follow the plan.

1) 1-Handed sword/shield
2) 2-Handed sword
3) 1 Cleric
5) 2 Bards
7) 2 Wizards
8 ) 1 Warlock

That's the best party in my opinion, if you don't believe me go get it.
Note this is a higher level euro party, there are bard skills which require 2 bards in the party.

Thanks for putting all that into words, I put the healer sections in my sig to let people know. Any other people with different chars should put the other sections in their sig. Very useful. :D

Coming from another online game, I thought this sort of thing would be common sense with the introduction of "party centric" jobs, but I personally think people are still in the mindset of the gungho I can do it by myself Chinese Character mentality.

I think it's just going to take some time for people to let it sink in.
