ok my father owns a nice windows xp P.C, now i usely play sro on it, now wondering if itd be smart to take my new laptop i got for free and hook it up through a router and have sro on 2 pc's so i can "help" myself?, now if it is, would a router make sro harder to play such and, slower gameplay? thanks

as long as you have a decent internet connection you can have more than 1 silkroad client on your router at once. When my friends play there can be about 4 silkroads going on my Linksys wrt54g router and none of us lag and i have basic Dsl so i think you should be fine

i have fast comcast, but my router is a piece of shit. so thats why i was wondering

if it's atleast 36Mbps then you shouldn't have that much lag. After it get to like 18Mbps though you start dcing in crowded areas alot.

Silkroad doesnt really use much bandwith, i had 2 computers running SRO in Hotan @ Dial up speed and i didnt lagout

Iv'e had 4 silkroads running at once while downloading a movie at
200kb/s+ with 4mb/s (good isp) with no problem at all..

well i now have 2pc's able to run sro, now that givesme things i can use.. like helping myself, now, that means new account, new character and build

4MB/S That's seems kinda low to me. I Always have atleast 48 usually and mostly 56.

my laptop on wireless connection have 54 mbps, with a "very low" status.. and it cuts out every 5 min

You should probably get a new wirelesss card, Mine was doing that so i got a new one and now it is always Very Good or Excellent

Just use ethernet cord then. Very low signal is to much of a hassle.

thats what i do, my mom just got a comp and doesnt use it so i set up a staller on that comp

i can use the router just the setup is very weird

as long as ur inet doesnt suck it will work fine. SRO actually runs fairly decently on a dialup connection (something I learned while visiting my grandparents).
