What does the physical and magical reinforce do? First I thought it decreased the rate that durability goes down from either phys or mag attacks. Then someone sorta proved that it increased your defense somehow. So what does reinforce really do?

Mag reinforce increases your magic defence when on equipment and shields, and mag attack when on weapons.
Phy reinforce increases your phy defence when on equpiment and shields, and phy attack when on weapons.

After all the formulas and stuff, all you need to know is that the higher the better...
It's often neglected though, and a weapon with a high reinforce can make up for a low attack powerr, and give you an extra edge over someone with an otherwise similar weaon.
