What are some thoughts about a STR Hybrid Glavie?

Like 2 str and 1int every lvl....is that bad? good?

I would assume that all your gonna get from this is:

"STR Hybrid? what are you stupid???"

There arent enough people that want to put time into a build that isnt prooven. Give it a shot, explore the boundry's of character building.

Between INT and STR on your gear, and HP bonuses you can put on your head, chest, legs, i think you should roughly have the HP of a pure str with non alchemized gear by the time your done. The tradeoff might be higher average damage and better defence against nukers for sub-20k HP and a little bit of a lower crit.

I like my STR Hybrid coming up to 7X soon, and no amount of close-mindness from others is gonna change that.

It all comes down to whether you want to play for fun and try new things, or be like everyone else.

Well that's not bias or anything .
But yah, what they said, go for it if you want to. There are a lot of strength hybrids who were supposed to suck and quit because they sucked so bad but in the end they still managed to have fun and not suck. You'll always get people who'll preach you on never going str hybrid but if you want to do it, go for it.

A glavie quetion.... in this build which skills is best for me? like a pure str? and what skills is that? I know there is a blocking move that it does i dont think i need that.... but anyone who knows what isnt a waste of SP for my build?

I am planning to learn all the buffs...all the element or whatever... is that a good idea? being a hybrid ... should i learn force...so i can get the MP bonus?.... let me know ur opinion...thanks!

my 90/50 balance hybrid glaive rocks. i love playing with this. im still in 5X though. farming is a pain but sweet reward nonetheless.

i still have to find a way to beat the crap out of those sox user.
to bad im not a sox user. but anyway, im still having fun which is the most important thing.

Well, learning force is not necessary if your going 2:1 str:int. I have force and the passive maxed and i almost have 9k mp, which is more than enough. If you choose to be a healer then that is another story, but realize that if you want to be a healer, you will have to sacrifice another tree because 4 is pretty much the max you can have right now (80/80/70/70).

If you dont want to be a healer, then i would probably suggest the same as i am, well except you would take Glaive instead of bow, and go Glaive (80), Fire/Lightning (one 80, one 70). You can forego the 4th tree at the start cause you will find yourself very sp starved if you try to level 4 masteries from the beginning (trust me, thats what i did, lol)

Learning all the buffs from the fire/lightning trees is good. You will up your physical damage, magical damage, parry, magic defence, and status reduce. You will be missing out on a bit of Physical defence by not taking ice, but if you wear protector, this will somewhat be made up.

Going with a build like this, you will be pretty much forced to take on alchemy. So you can make up STR (and therefore HP) that you chose to put into INT. In the end, once you hit 8th degree, with good alchemy, you should roughly have the HP of a pure str with non-alchemized gear, which isnt bad at all, and you will have more resistance against magic attacks than pure STR's have.
