how do i type over a hyperlink?
e.g. i like to silkroadonline dot net but i want the link to say CHICKEN

Hover over the URL button while posting a message, and it will tell you with contextual help right above where you type the message.
If you don't have Javascript enabled and can't see the contextual help, here is the syntax (just replace the parentheses with the brackets):
(url=http://blahblah.com)CHICKEN(/url)
