Mag. Atk = [Mag. attack power + (Int stat * Mag. Reinforce)]
It directly affects your damage output.

Reinforce makes your damage more constant, for example if you nuke a mob around your level around 2k the first try then 3k the second try thats the dmg range you have, with your mag reinforce higher that 3k becomes more common than the 2k, thus being a great help for grinding, unique hunting pvp ect.. Hope it helped
srry but ur semi-wrong, ur talking about attack rating...though higher attk power does give higher attk dmg (thus ur semi-wrong)
it's wat xanovaria put...higher phy/mag reinforce gives u higher phy/mag attk/def (as in the formula)....
reinforce is as important as phy/mag. attk/def on gear

this is the correct answer also i think it is more important than mag attack itself not sure of this though

this is correct, i use a spear and a sword, depends of there are party mobs where i grind, my sword is +7 and my spear is +5, but my spear has mag reinforce 10% higher b/c its a spear, and it hits about 1.5k higher on average
btw, sword has full blue now, but new image wouldnt upload correctly

Reinforcement on weapon are very important and they add more damage when highest is your level and if you are pure or hybrid. Taking account that is a damage that depend on the amount of int or str, higher mag reinf has more effect on a pure int than on a hybrid int. To give you numbers:
Highest mag attack of a lvl72 spear it varies from 1287-1373 and the mag reinforments varies from 275 to 286. If the one that wield the spear is a pure int lvl80 with 50 int on his gear he will have 386int points, so if we use the reinforements values of that spear we get extra damage from reinforcement that varies from 1061-1104. Looking at this numbers having 100% on mag attack provide 86 extra damage and having 100% on reinforcement provide 43 extra damage (exactly the half, I dont know if it coincidence), so you do get more damage having higher % on attack than on reinf, but the reinf values should not be ignore (take into account that each + that has the spear add 40 damage, so a good % on reinf is like having an extra + on the weapon ).

He is right, that is what reinfocement for. Attack rating is also part of that high damage effect. So you want to hit high damage consistently you need both. I have tested it with my weapon and amor. So dont tell me i am wrong too.

A little more detailed with pictures
EllisD wrote: EDIT: I dug up the best explaination for Physical and Magical reinforce on weapons from this thread: http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic ... =reinforceNuclearSilo wrote: Tallrik wrote: "Phys reinforce affects how fast durability will go down on your weapon when using Phys. Attacks, and Mag Reinforce works the same way on mag. attacks"
false Quote: str is about physical aspect. The higher, the better your crits, physical resistance, physical damge, life span.
int is about magical aspect. The higher, the better your magic attack, magical resistance, and mana span.
false and all are false....... Phy/Mag have nothing to do with durability, but with your stat base. It's the bonus of damage added when u equip your weapon. Here is an exemple : The mag power of my blade 56+3 is 705. With a mag reinforce 166.3%, and with 207 Int comes from my build, the bonus mag power when equip the weapon is 207*166.3%=344.2. So my final power when equip the weapon is 705+344.2=1049.2. mag power (when weapon equiped) = mag power (weapon) + [mag reinforce (weapon) * Int] Same with phy reinforce but apply with str. Thanks NuclearSilo

Whoever Said This wrote: Same with phy reinforce but apply with str.
It's different for physical attack power.
Phy. Atk = [Phy. attack power + (Str stat * Phy. Reinforce)] * [1 + weapon mastery/100]
