Its fun being a thief. Its much harder being a hunter protecting a trade convoy, thus more challenging. If you are new to SRO, try both jobs if you can (theres a 7 day penalty for changing jobs and it may cost a bit of gold).

Yeap, it's hard and it is embarassing too if you can't protect the trader as the hunter and the thief owning both of you.

im an all str sword/shield euro warrior with cleric sub for the defensive buffs...

so i'm a tanker in the true sense of the word

i do not want to go trader...

as for thief - thief is fun

as for hunter - it's simple, throw on a flag and go

i've played since the start of everything, i recently xfered to the pacific server... i just can't decide, all this euro stuff is new to me...

I think you should go Hunter. I used to be Thief, but on Rome server, most traders are under 40 going 1 star. I could be thiefing for 3hours+ and not even see 1 trader thats 40+ or 2*+.

Ive recently left Thief allias....im turning Hunter

warrior/cleric makes a good hunter, can tank and handle higher lvl theives (with aid of party some times solo with the cleric buffs), i imagine the same would go to a theif party, but theiving is boring, at least i though it was, you and a buddy can go hunting any time of the day, but as a theif you have to rely on prey to be there, where are hunter/ merchants can go when ever

also hunters/merchants you make a clear amount of progress as you escort, you see your self getting closer on the map, theives its just luck and timing if you find a trader, ok ya there is skill in all of it, but what good is skill if no one is trading,

hunters ya they need a merchant to go with for a decencent jobbing, experirance. But your merchants are usualy mates and freinds, now how often does a theif and a trader decide when to meet up amoung freinds or guild mates,

so keep in mind theiving can be fun and it can be boring (more boring then fun), but hunting and trading you can pretty much go anytime, and be garunteed a decent chance to make a good sum of cash, theives must rely on their pray to make money

I dont know when you have been playing. But there are WAY too many thieves in troy.

tried a 5* last night, had 3 72+ thieves on us before we were 20 feet outside city.

if you are a chinese character, go thief
if you are euro, go hunter

why?

chinese hunter job item looks terrible
euro thief job item looks so lame and horrible and not as cool as the chinese one

I do trades at night..and the the number of thief is low compared to hunters...3 trades 5* with 4 trades and not a single thief on sight...don't get me wrong i have seen 10+ high lvl. thief vs 2 hunters... specially outside DW..you can be sure that there a LOT more hunters then thief
