is attribute assimilation a reroll or a drop to 0%

I was dumping blues on my sos bow and I got an assimilation where my magic atk went from 77% to 0%. I was wondering if its always this way, where whatever stat it assimilates, it drops to its plain 0% number or it actually rerolls it and i just had the worst of luck. Ty.

dam that really really sucks... sorry to hear that, but no assimilation could is a reroll, doesnt always go to 0. It could very well go up, like I've gotten 100% STR increase by assimilation before =D
