2: Mastery limit is 300 total. However, its uber hard to maintain more than 2-3. Some people maintain 4, but they've been playing a long time. It also depends on what type of build your making.

4: Dying to a player is very little XP loss, nothing compared to dying to a monster. However, if your thief, you will still lose normal XP if a monster gets you. NPC takes away more than player, but less than monster.
5: 24
6: Totally depends if your glaive or spear (nuker) Check the characters and skills section for many build guides. Those are more detailed than anything, really.
7: Once you finish your quests, or you feel strong enough to do bugs.
