I should preface this with the fact that I (eventually) want to be a merchant, so please answer these questions with that thought in mind.

I just started playing yesterday (on Persia), and I made an archer character. I'm level 12 or so. The servers are congested right now, so I thought I would do a little research, because I have utterly no clue what I'm doing.

I have been putting all of my stat points into strength, not really sure why, I just assumed it would make me do more damage. I find myself running low on mana very quickly, should I be putting more into int?

I get skill points faster than I know what to do with them, should I be saving them? I have like.. 150 or so saved up. The rest are in Pacheon I have all of the skills I can get in there, for the most part, a few in cold to get the ice-weapon thing, and then some in whatever the tree is that lets you heal yourself (which I don't find myself using that much). Should I invest these excess skill points into other weapon specialties, other elements, or just focus on a select number of things?

When I'm running around killing stuff, I find myself mainly just shooting my bow, without using any special abilities, or at least not very many, unless I want to spend my time sitting down (what's the fun in that?). I tried buying a ton of mp/hp restoration herbs and turning the auto-potion feature on and spamming abilities like crazy, but I burned through 6000 gold worth of consumables in no time. I have 20,000 gold is that a decent amount for level 12?

I've been getting tons of tablets and things that seem to be used in Alchemy, am I safe in assuming that pretty much anything I get at such a low level is safe to sell to a vendor, or could I potentially make more money setting up a stall full of this stuff.

No one seems to talk in this game. Every once in a while someone will invite me to a group, I will say hello, and no one will even say hello back. Am I missing something? Is persia not an english speaking server or something?

One more thing, I noticed the Item Mall is some sort of real $$ for in game items sort of thing, which I understand that's there way of making money off of a "free" game. I'm just wondering if it is something that ever becomes required to be successful in the game, or if it's something that can be made up with a little extra in-game work.

Thanks in Advance

This is basically up to you but the way your going you are heading for a fullstr char which all in all isn't a bad choice. You of course could add 10-20 levels or more to INT if you do so wish. I was a pure INT but decided adding STR very recently.

150 isn't many, later on it's thousands for one skill. To increase the amount of SP you get you use a process named "farming" it's simply keeping a gap between your main level and your mastery so if your lvl 16 and your lowest mastery is is 7 you have a 9 gap which is the highest to go. You will rank slower but you will need this SP later on.

Pots are expensive but worth it, if you can't afford them just use attack skills, save the buffs for when you can.

Tablets will sell, but if you make them into stones you will get a better price, also keep alchemy items and make elements with them. wind 2 is worth 2k each if you get any (on Sparta server anyway)

Find a guild with people you know and trust.

I use the item mall and find it useful but you can get by without it, many do.

yea, what he said ^ but don't add int to your str character.
You will find guides about hybrid and str hybrid ( more str than int, but still adding str AND int) and you will find out that str hybrid isn't good.

Your character will be a lot stronger when using the fire tree instead of the ice tree since fire does the most damage and has a physical damage buff.
You already stated that you don't use force, I suggest you drop it, very few people take and very few of them are pleased with it.

Investing in Lightning also wont hurt, the grasswalk is very useful and you wont find a high level character without it

I've also PMed you with the info of my lv 54 pure str glaive on Oasis, wanna experiment, go ahead and have fun. Please do realize that over 10 people just like you have the account info and I don't have the secret question answer, so the account will always be empty because someone checks it out( and empties it). But gaining a few hundred gold for a lv1 glaive shouldn't be too hard. And besides, not everyone gets the chance to play a lv 54 for nothing.

Have fun on silkroad.

just a few notes. if u want u can do all 3 jobs, u dont have 2 pick 1.
I would stay pure str and when u hit lvl 30 then decide what weapon u want 2 use. u could stay with bow or switch 2 blade or glavie. all 3 have there strong points all depends on what is fun 4 u.if go away fro bow u will have 2 usw cursed hearts 2 delvl your bow skills.
as for alchemy no one really buys tabs or stones at low lvls cuz they blow through those lvls so quickly.
u should read up on sp farming cuz at some point u will have 2 do it unless u play the whole game with a 6lvl gap.
when u get invited 2 a party there's a good chance it's mostly bots.try 2 find a good guild 2 join(check out guild section in this forum)most guilds form parties together.
item mall items are not necessary but they make a huge difference in game play. having a pet 2 pick up your drops is huge when farming. also a gold ticket while farming cuts your time in half(it doubles your xp gain).
thats all I got if u have more questions just ask, there are a lot of helpful people on thos forum
