Astral Protection-Help

Ok, Ive heard recently that Astral doesn't protect a weapon when the weapon is +5. Any truth to that?
for example If my weapon is +5 and I wanted to go for +6 with as/imm and it failed Would the weapon stay +5 or go down to +4?

Astrals make it so if a weapon fails it goes to +4 instead of +0. You can try for +9 and if it fails it will go to +4 with an astral.

VERY IMPORTANT:
Astral is nothing unless you have Immortal on it
Without Immortal, U cant use astral
