I've heard Som/Sosun drops are lower than the level of monster you're hunting. Is this true ? anybody Know?

they correspond to the degree of weapon/tabs/armour the monster normally drops.

Well, a 4d monster would only drop 4d normal drops, but SoS drops from a 4d mob can be either 4 or even 5d.
I heard som/sun drops are dropped a degree lower sometimes. So from a 4d mob you could get a 3d sun item. But also ive seen someone get a 7d SoM blade from a mujigi (lvl49 mob = 6d)
This can be proven with the fact that the only SoX drops from a 76+ mob are sun 8d, 76+ mobs are 9d, so basically they should drop 9d SoS, but since that doesn't exist, they drop 8d sun. Even though the droprate of 8d sun has been greatly reduced since Euro update, they do still drop.

If you're looking for drop's, you usually get them more with mobs that are green for you (their name appears green; usually 4-5 levels lower than you). But the level of the mob usually determines the level of the item you will get, say you kill a level 32 mob you'll get a level 32 item or lower, they won't drop items that are a higher level than them. As for sosun/som drops, i think they're just totally random, just gotta be lucky to get them.

mobs drop sox according to their lvl, a lvl 64 mob can drop weapons and wristlets, lvl 65 can drop weapons, shoulders and wristlets, lvl 66 can drop head piece plus the previous 3, 67 is shoes, 68 is legs and 69 is chest, anything higher lvl then that will drop all of them still. BUT a lvl 64 could still drop 7D sox cloths EXCEPT wristlets. hope this makes sense to you, and it is like this for all lvls. SOSUN drops has drasticlly been cut down since the euro update, now I very seldom hear of people getting sun drops. You do have a better chance of getting a SOX drop at lower lvls since lower lvl mobs drop more gear, when I was lvl 20 I would go out grinding and easily fill up my inventory with drops before I went back to town, when you get to high lvl (75+) you are lucky to get 1 drop in 6-8 hours, so less chance of getting a drop, I have know people that going from lvl 1-80 have got 20 sox drops and then also people that got their first drop at lvl 70, so its really random.

uniques i beleive do have a higher chance of dropping decent items.
BUT
they're non repair items, they usually have amazing stats and blues, and their durability will be like 300% increase, but it will say no repair, so once you've worn out the weapon, blam, its useless.

Normal items, no. But SoS items in theory can drop higher lvl. From a 64 mob you can get 64/65/66/67/68/69 SoX drops. And it's even possible to get 9d SoS from a 8d mob in theory, only 9d doesn't exist right now.
