My part just arrived, I built up the computer, okay. Now I try to start it, but all what happens is... it just turns on and that's it. Nothing is sent to the monitor (it's all the time in stand-by) and it doesn't make any noise at all. Could it be that the parts I ordered are incompatible?

Here's a list (it's in Slovenian, but you will be able to recognize things):
Code:

Did the machine beep/post on the first start up? Are you sure you have your monitor plugged into the video card? Give a bit more description.

I surely have everything plugged in. And not a single beep at start-up.

Edit: after looking at the ASUS website...

This motherboard supports the latest Intel® Core™2 processors in LGA775 package. It also can support Intel® next generation 45nm Multi-Core CPU. With new Intel® Core™ microarchitecture technology and 1333 / 1066 / 800 MHz FSB, Intel® Core™2 processor is one of the most powerful and energy efficient CPU in the world.

Just my guess, but Q8200 is far to new, right? In that case I'm going to exchange it for a P5Q PRO... <,<

I don't know of any quads without an FSB that's listed there so I'm a tad confused.

Your processor is 45nm which is supported..so I have no idea what's wrong. Try starting up with only 1 gb ram(assuming you have 2 sticks of 1gb) and make sure you have a 6pin cable going into your gfx card.

Fairly often, the mobo will support a certain line of processors, but it may require a BIOS flash to support one that's newer. Sometimes you have to fall back to an old processor to flash the bios, though.

Never mind, my bad. Didn't stick in the 12V stick on the motherboard. Is the first time I'm building a new computer. >.<

No worries. What happens on SRF, stays on SRF.
Maybe.

The SRF Moderation Team cannot be held responsible in case sensitive information does leave SRF.
